Well, I don't think we'll have to worry about anybody showing up in a tank top this weekend, NineballCC, due to the cold front on the East Coast! ;)

Can't wait for tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to seeing the whole gang, to include Pookie. He's been MIA as of late on the local scene, and I remember him stating a few weeks ago that he might take a trip to Thailand.

The season opener always attracts players from far and near, and I'm sure tomorrow will be no different. See you there! :)

i've got a good line that quite a few players from richmond will be making the trek up to laurel tomorrow......seems like this one is gonna be crowded :D

Planet Pool events always have HUGE turnouts. There was recently an email sent to the tour's maillist that indicated that the tour had outgrown some of it's previous host rooms. It went on to say that the 8-ball tour is an effort to keep those smaller rooms participating (I wonder if the turnout will really be any smaller...).

I would be interested to hear folks' opinion re: why Planet Pool packs 'em in while other events (amature tour events also) that I see on AZ state <50 players.

There's a couple reasons I drive from near Pittsburgh to play:

-The tournaments are well run. They keep things moving. There is very little down time on the tables.

-The fields are always strong. I'm a league 7, but I enjoy the challenge of possibly running into some of the top players around and seeing where I stand.

-Even when I'm not playing, it's fun to watch top players go at it.

-The behavior of the players, in my experience, has been top notch.

-The establishments they play out of are nice places with decent equipment.

I've been chomping at the bit to get started this year since I didn't get to attend as many events last year as I wanted. I'll be there tomorrow hoping to get to Sunday's rounds.

Good Luck to everyone and see you there!!

Looks like we're all chomping at the bit to get back in the saddle again on the Planet Pool 9-Ball Tour! :p

I am eager to hear about the latest addition of the 8-ball tournaments to the tour.

Each year, the PP 9-Ball tour is getting bigger, and it is absolutely because of the hard work and dedication of its administrative body, consisting of Nick "The Bald Guy" Prinsloo, Andy "Alinco" Lincoln, and Cece. Last year, I think the season opener had over 120 players, if memory serves me correctly.

Can't wait to see the whole gang again! :D

Too kind - Too kind

Wow - thanks everyone - it's really awesome to hear so many compliments about our tour. We actually like the duck on the pond - it looks so smooth on top - but we're paddling like crazy underneath. I hope this year is going to be just as great as last year - we're going to be much busier than previous years, with the 8-ball - we have so many more events.

I'm chomping at the bit to get back as well - on tour weekends - I work 14 hours a day for two days, loving every minute of it. I've actually found it hard to sit and do nothing these last six or seven weekends.

I'm logging off - got to get ready for the morning! Thanks again, hope to see you all there!

why don't they just take the planet pool staff, joss tour staff, and viking tour staff, put them all in a room.............and make a real pro tour???? in my opinion the successful tour directors like this should be on the UPA board of directors along with some marketing specialists, and maybe a couple players..........sorry to get off topic.......but am i the only one that thinks maybe the key to the pro's success may lie within the grasp of the regional tour directors????
