Plastic bags for cues.

You know when you order a cue and have it shipped, or get a cue refinished. They almost always get sent to you sealed in a plastic bag that seems like it was made for that particular purpose.
A long bag with a pocket for the butt and shaft.

Are they specifically made for the billiard industry, or do the people just have a big roll of plastic that they seal accordingly.

Does anyone know where to buy these?

maybe

Seems like I bought mine from Atlas, maybe Prather. They are cue bags and quite inexpensive. I haven't used one in awhile but seems like they had separate compartments for the butt and each of two shafts.

Sorry no time to check where they came from right now, getting ready for out of town company.

Atlas has them.

Thank You!

Yep, Atlas sells them.
Pool tip of the day.
You can fashion a duck tape handle and have a nice see thru cue case. Very unique.

With newspaper and duct tape you can fashion a whole case. Saw one of these at the SBE. I would have bought it except that he wanted $400 for it. Ironically on the flight home I saw duct tape wallets on sale in an airport gift shop $18.

:-)

Also at the very very beginning I used to make the cases by surrounding the tubes in EVA foam rubber (very dense) and then duct taping the whole thing from top to bottom. That was one heavy case but practically indestructible. I spent three days at a trade show beating it with a baseball bat to show off how tough it was.

old blanket

I had a plain Meucci back in the early eighties that I carried around in a piece of old blanket that I had hand sewn into a soft case of sorts. Worked OK, I made pretty good money with that old blanket. It did keep the shaft and butt apart and protect from minor dings too.

Edited to add to SuperStar: I have a Budweiser sneaky now that I rebuilt from a three dollar cue. I added the plastic sleeve you were asking about inside the original vinyl case to vastly increase protection!

Oh...wait....what were we talking about again........?! Oh yeah Atlas carries these.

MACGUY posted a few years back about this place that sells the tubing in rolls:

I order the 3" to put butts in and the 1 1/2" for shafts. If I deliver a full cue, I seal the shaft in the sleeve, then insert it inside the 3" sleeve with the butt. I bought a cheap $10.00 heat sealer at a local discount store to seal the ends. I also insert one of my business cards inside the 3" sleeve before sealing it up.
