With all the controversy about pattern racking, this may solve some of the problem. Rack 10 ball and after the break remove the lowest numbered ball on the table. Then continue to play.

why not rack all 15 balls like you would for 8ball and remove the highest 6 balls? lol.
sounds like mental mastrabation, just play 10 ball or accept the short comings of 9 ball and play that.

Why? I mean that seriously? Why the heck would you even dream up such an absurd, confusing, and goofy way of doing things? Why not just break 10-ball and then play.... 10-BALL!
