I see you used the word "Them" in your post a common slip people often make, "One of them". Why do you assume I am not black?

Man this is just crazy. Stop twisting things around and instigating. You know darn well "them" refers to people...all people.

Geesh, the stuff that gets out of hand on here is just ridiculous.

I will make on point about our sport and racism...We are all created equal when stepping up to the table. We all know that race has nothing to do with skill and that is one of the beautiful things about our sport. When you step up to play someone you have never seen shoot, no matter what size, shape, sex, or handicap they may have, they are your equal until they prove themselves otherwise.

Most is a result of ignorance and it can't be tolerated even in it's most innocent form. Ask James Byrd or Matthew Shepard. (I am afraid they can't answer). These things are taught and it starts young. Don't expect people to change it can be very ingrained especially in some older people and in most cases they don't even recognize it in themselves. The use of a phrase the look in one's eye, it's there the hate, prejudice, bigotry, you should rail against it when ever it raises it ugly head. If that make me a bad guy then I am in pretty good company.

I'm not saying you're a bad person at all. I just think you misread Linda's itentions with a silly picture. If you want to see ugly comments... here is a link to what somebody wrote about me this morning on another forum...
Ignorant words from DM
Complete Indvividual Message
and... to make matters worse he is heralded as a hero on this forum. I just see it as blatant stupidity and ignorance, but one must be just as careful when identifying racist remarks or actions. Of course the links I have provided are probably not "racist" in nature, as much as they are antagonistic and childish. Comments like that are designed to make people feel bad about who they are by the attacker. As a person with self esteem, I ignore and dismiss the comments as ignorance displayed by the ignorant. The fact is that as an Asian female, I deal with subtle racism every day of my life. More than some, not as much as others - but its there. I have never allowed who I am to hold me back, nor have I paid much attention to offensve remarks, looks, or attitudes. Its all about how you feel about yourself. If you are comfortable with who YOU are, you'll be comfortable with everybody else. That's just how I feel. For those that are mad about the links... talk to the author.

I don't mind if you disagreeing with me I have kind of come to expect it, but you need to at least be honest. I am sorry but I doubt you even believe what you are saying yourself. You are being dishonest, at least I hope you are, let's hope you didn't really think those pictures she used were OK. If you think so just come right out and say it. I don't think they were and I believe most anybody would agree with me if they are honest about it.

Oh, I didn't like the picture at all. Just because it was ugly. But I have seen many similar on the discovery channel. Was it a real picture? A caricature? Or a computer creation? And a visit to the Art Institute in Chicago will show all kinds of creations - artists interpretations they are called that I think are in very bad taste.

So the picture in itself is not racist.

And what is wrong with being a bigot? Archie Bunker make a fortune portraying one on TV. How many people complained when he used the term Polack?

As far as all people being created equal. Utter nonsense. Just look around. All people are equal only in the eyes of the law.

There is a fine line between being a bigot and being aware of your surroundings.

Wow, well that post explains a lot. At least you came out and said it, most won't.

Could we please give this a rest? Seriously. There are no bigots here. I've never experienced any kind of racist remark, and have never seen anything on AZ that would be considered deragatory.

What was this thread about originally?

Oh yeah, pics of pool players.

One question: Where did Jackie Broadhurst come from and when's the next plane headed there?

Isn't she gorgeous? And such a sweetie. Unfortunately for you and half the planet, she is happily married to a handsome guy. Can't remember his name.
Here's a blurry pic I took of her and some articles with some great pics.

are you kirikumakura too? that's who the reply was aimed at. or is it because you are asian then it was aimed at you? i don't get the connection unless you are in fact, kirikumakura, or however it was spelled. and fwiw, i don't get offended by pictures that some people put up when it's all in fun.

No, that's not me. I am not posting at RSB anymore at all. This doesnt stop this duo from insinuating that I am. It doesn't matter who he was responding to, what is written is offensive, and yes... it was directed at me personally, but I just take it from the source.

fair enough.

Hmmm ....

Bigotry is a matter of PERSPECTIVE. Some people hear
it in everything that is SAID, whether it is there or not,
some people never hear it, and most just take it with
a grain of salt, and remind people that we are all
human beings first, before being a gender or a race.

the user control panel has an area where you can turn off all avatars. if i were the type of person that found others avatars offensive i think thats what i'd do.you can set your options to your own preferences.if you dont care for certain people you can add them to your ignore section. you have a choice, just like they have a choice.also pm's are very useful to discuss personal matters with another without getting the whole forum involved.

Thanks, that was easy, some of them are pretty weird in general. I turned off my PM a while ago. You should see some of the PM's I would get. I think some of these people are actually crazy they send like a dozen nutty PM's.

ccn7, that is the perfect advice for what some people should do when they feel that they have been offended. but, it will not happen because most of them are like the guy in the bar that makes all the noise when he's about to get his butt kicked and he wants someone there to break it up before he gets what he deserves. no big deal though. i can't play pool so these types of threads are the only ones i can reply to.

I thought this topic had run its course? We were already back to the subject at hand, and now this.

Now...

Who else thinks that Jackie Broadhurst looks like the chick from Date With An Angel?

Ha! She does a little. Except blonde.

Billy H. - I miss all your "H stands for..." posts.

And no, I have not PM'ed MacGuy or even given him negative rep points (even though I wanted to. ;) ) I have tried to keep this conversation on track about the players.
