Player rankings??

If you are talking about the rankings for pro men in the US, that is done by the UPA. There is an explanation of the method and two lists on the UPA website -- http://www.upatour.com/

Players get 125 points for a first-place finish, 95 for second, etc., in each UPA-sanctioned event.

I think there is a different system in other countries.

No I'm talking about the players in the player finder list. If you pull up a name they have a ranking. Just curious these people are form all over and it's not based on winnings.

You may have lost me again. I don't see a "player finder list" but I do see a "Members List" in the bar above on this page. If you go into that "Members List" and look at the names, each name has a "Reputation." attached to it. Is it the "reputation" on the "Members List" you are wondering about?

If I am not mistaken, it is by your winnings from the larger tournaments - regional events, pro events, etc.

Rankings don't seem to be from winnings. The player finder list is on AZ opening page.

Now I see list. Yes, it seems to produce strange rankings that aren't related to amount won or titles. It does seem to have something to do with who's hot currently, since Ortmann seems to have had a big step up for the WC 14.1 and now has subsided.

Call it a 'heat meter'. It basically tracks how much interest there is in a particular player. The more people click on that player's name, the higher their ranking goes.

Of course, there is code in there to keep someone from just clicking a name over and over to see it go up in rankings.
