I just assumed the promoters wanted them to do it for the recent majors. I doubt SVB is naturally inclined to jump on a pool table.
All speculation though.

Some people have said that some of these celebrations look like they have been practiced or previously agreed to. Of course they are. Have you ever seen the NFL? When a defense gets a takeaway there is a group celebration that they do that has already been rehearsed. The ones not liking these celebrations with probably never grasp how big this moment is because they will never get there. It's ironic that people say there is no emotion in pool, but when pool players show emotion after winning a huge event, nope can't have that.

The showing of emotion is not the issue, it’s abusing / disrespecting the table / equipment, which I’m quite sure is not their own, and the example that sets.
Even if Matchroom has approved in advance and encourages this, I still say it’s it’s a bad example, as I don’t ever want to see anyone doing it on my tables.
Is that a problem you’re currently having to address, players watching it happen at the Mosconi Cup and then getting inspired to jump on your tables?
No, they would bang their head on our lights, but twirling our house cues (thanks to Tom Cruise in COM) still occurs occasionally among some recreational players, and they politely are asked to stop.
To me it’s just the principle of doing something on a pool table that you should never do. Even an electrician who is hanging a pool table light above a pool table is discouraged (if at all possible) from actually standing on the table surface. Call me old school, I’ll take it as a compliment.
standing on a pool table is not abusing it. Even 1000 pounds on a pool table isn't doing anything to it. The felt is probably replaced after that event anyways so I don't see how it hurts the table/equipment.
I give up on this - apparently this is now perfectly acceptable behavior after a major tournament win.
Let's not leave out the damage done to the green on which the Ryder Cup is clinched, where about fifteen or twenty players/coaches run simultaneously onto the green ... and the Ryder Cup doesn't even pay prize money.
Let the players enjoy their greatest victories with semi-rowdy behavior.
