Players not being paid at US Open

Instead of the sanctioning bodies providing authority for events before prizes are stated and after they are paid.

Those that regulate should monitor also. Feedback on fully paid events should be labeled as well as those that fail to pay in full or on time.

:p

Name them...........

Even I f danny Harriman is BSing.

He points out details that are worth mentioning.

How you want to argue it, I'm in it for future generations. He isn't being overly demanding. He didn't propose any ideas which looks a little weak.

Late payments from tournament or failed payments should result in a sanctioning penalty.

What should the sanctioning penalty be?

Public Recognition that failure to pay (on time, late or in full) has taken place

Fee paid to sanctioning body

Free entry to tournament

Reducing how many points the event is worth in players rankings

A warning, two more warnings result in losing sanctioning

Sounds a bit like sour grapes... "my dad can beat up your dad!"...LOL David tried to help you out, and you couldn't deal with it. Case closed...

Ehh... I can see Danny's side of things somewhat. Brady owes him $1000 and won't/can't pay. Someone else steps in and offers to pay and suddenly Danny goes from looking like a man simply getting what he is rightfully owed to looking like a charity case because the guy now paying him is not even the guy who owes him the money.

If some AZB member goes out and gambles and gets stiffed for $200 he won and AZB members step up and pool together the $200 and ship it to him, that is not him getting the money he is owed, that is charity. Danny getting paid by Blackjack is much the same, now suddenly Danny looks like a charity case.

I've just scanned the last few pages so please excuse me if the point has already been made.

The PGA has cities & sponsors waiting in line for a week to open up.

There is no demand for the pool players' talents & hence tournament directors or 'sponsors' have no competition.

There is nothing that can really be done to sanction a tournament.

There is no real structure in the game & the players have no unity nor 'union'.

It's loosey goosey & regretfully that is how it is going to stay unless the players themselves come together & follow what the old golfers did when & after they formed the PGA, Professional Golfers Association. It's their show. If you want a PGA event you follow their rules or you don't get one.

Yes it's easy for them now but it was not always the case. There was a time when a golf professional was not even allowed in the locker rooms of the country clubs where they plied their trade.

The players need leadership AND they need to be willing to be a part of a group & not out there on their own with no responsibility to anyone but themselves. They need to become a team, a fellowship, or it will stay as it is. IMO if the top players were to get together & form & then forego an event or two the few tournaments left would sit down with them & then it might start to get better.

Just my 2 cents.
Best to All,
Rick

If you are gambling with someone, and bust them, and they throw one more game at you and lose...would you have a problem with them getting the money from someone else to pay you what you are owed? Odds are, you would insist they get the money somehow. Same thing here with Danny.

If it is the friend of the guy I am playing yeah sure, he can borrow the money from his friend and pay me and i will assume since they are friends the guy who loaned the money is getting it back.

With this it is not quite so clear because what happens if David does not get paid the money by Brady?

For me personally? I would take the money from Brady's own hands that David had loaned him, but I would feel partly at fault if Brady went on to stiff David, and if you win money in a tournament that is rightfully yours you should have not have to go through that sort of BS.

At the end of the day the guy that owes the money should pay the guy he owes, period.
