As one of my last few official postings on here until the fall...I will say that Si, you're absolutely right.
I also think that HIRUN has a pretty sharp sense of humor.
Now that I have my Searing cue, I cannot imagine NOT playing with it. All of the talks with Dennis make perfect sense to me...and all of them have entailed discussion regarding the fact that he (and many, many others) build cues which are intended for the table...not the display case. My cue was built to be played with...and I'll play the HELL right out of it. I've tried to get all the misses out of it early, too!!
Having a Szamboti like yours is a real treat, I would imagine...being able to actually PLAY with it makes it all the better.
You're not showing off a 90% ivory and scrimshaw show cue...you're showing off a thoroughbred player. Regardless of who made it, it was made to play. The fact that it's a Szam just adds to the WOW factor.
I haven't owned very many "high end" cues...but every cue I've ever owned, I bought to play with (for a week, a month, a year....okay, maybe a year is a bit of a stretch

). This includes the "high end" ones.
Enjoy the cue, Si. I know you will continue to!
Best regards,
Mark
