Players that are douchebags...

I have been competing for almost forty years now and a spectator for longer. I have found that there is no serious competitor that you can't catch at a wrong moment and get a bad reception. No matter how nice someone is, nobody is perfect 100% of the time.

Trying to get everyone to list unpleasant experiences is not a good idea. Why encouraging bashing someone that is a nice person the vast majority of the time for one lapse? From my one face to face meeting with him I remember one of the leading players with a fine reputation as a bit of an annoying jerk. On the other hand, I remember some people with reputations as jackasses as very fine people, at least in their dealings with me.

Hu

Excellent, excellent, excellent!

i seem to recall getting my ass handed to me for agreeing with someone's right to call a player an "ass". the title of this suggests to call them "douchebags". the kid who used the term ass was raked over the coals and this thread got some light prodding as to idea that it's not a good thing to call people names. i don't understand this place.

yeah... it would seem that the majority of the users on this forum are quick to resort to a sort of douche bag like mentality when they find a thread they don't like...

Douche Bag...........hmmmmmmm

I would rather have it all collected in a douche bag and flushed than for it to be stinking up my favorite place. Douche bags are awesome!!

Threads wanting people to flame others are not needed. This thread needs a douche bag. IMO

You always have an option.

As for your choices of terminology, you're on very thin ice. I don't care what you call it, I call it a flame if you want to call anyone a douchebag.

Consider again the forum rules.

If you are inclined to idolize someone like Gordon Ramsay, I'll wager you like his abrasive stylings. I'd advise against trying it here.

Not pool players, but i met michael jordan last year when me and a buddy were in las vegas, and that guy is a total douchebag. Also, about a month ago i saw the old blue jays pitcher dave stieb at a bar, and this guy was my idol growing up in toronto, and he was the coolest guy ever. I told him the only other pro athlete ive met was MJ, and he says "That guy is a f'in asshole."

Wapner,Judy, Wilson

Yet another thread plagued with judging.

Leave the judging to the judges.

Whether it's a celebrity or me & you, we may meet and not like each other. It doesn't make the other one a douche bag. It just means we are different.

Thank God for it.

No good can come from pre-judging another person. Give people the benfit of the doubt! Maybe they had a bad morning, maybe someone they cared about was mean. Don't be so quick to judge people or situations. You will be happier.

Sincerely,

Ray

Since you've opened the door to other sports.....Nick Faldo walked up to his amateur partners on the first tee of a corporate pro-am and sullenly stated...."Hi I'm Nick Faldo and this is my caddy Jeff. Neither of us will help look for your golf balls in the rough, so don't expect us to. Ok stand back while I tee off please".....total charmer eh?

Then why don't you just delete the thread? it obviously serves no positive purpose and the title is offensive on several levels. Just a while ago a thread got deleted in the WFS section that was WAYYYYY less offensive than this one.
