Let me help you with the math Denny Boy. A miss on the 10th ball leaves 6 balls on the table which means he pocketed 9 that rack, 9 + 14 +14 +14 = 51.

I've been waiting all year for you to slip up. :D

On a serious note, those are nice runs, getting into the 3rd rack often is very good.

I don't know, I had 4 balls left. I missed one on the rail trying to break 2 out and I had a break ball. I would have missed the 12th ball I guess... I need a counter for this game. Bad math on my part.

so 14+14+14+11 = 53. I am not sure if I will learn to keep score or run 7 racks first.

Nice try, Bill.

You almost got me.;)

But I was bailed out by Jason.

P.s. My mechanic says maybe Sunday (probably not), Maybe next Friday ?

(x * 14) + (15 - y) = z

x = number of racks you ran
y = number of balls left on the table
z = your total run

Assuming you started with a full rack.

Edit:

If you didn't start with a full rack:

(a - 1) + ((x-1) * 14) + (15 - y) = z

where a is the number of balls on the table when you started

I think that's right.

xs and ys!?!

You are going to scare these guys away from straight pool.

Some have trouble counting let alone the advanced ciphering that you suggest.

Math makes sense. Thats why someone invented it... To help with everything that doesn't.
