Playing for stupid things....

Have you ever just wanted to teach someone you knew a lesson on being greedy? Lastnight i tried and learned a lesson myself. I work at a pool hall and this one kid who comes in always wants to play something but never wants to put anything up. well i played him a set for a soda something cheap i gave him 4 games in a race to 7. i let him win and got him a drink. next set was the same game for another soda. i let him win that set. Then the next set was for 3 sodas and something to eat. I was giving him 3 games and the 8 this time. and i beat hime 7-5. just to see how far he would go. I decided to play him any peircing in his face (he had his lip and eyebrow peirced) for $20 of my money in a game of 1-hole i was giving him 12-4. I really wanted to take his lip one cause he only had one of the rings and he had extra ones for his eyebrow. he didnt want to play so i told him i'll put up $50 of my money for his lip ring. he took the game and lost 12-2. he was pissed so i was giving him the same game but this time playing for the big plug he had in his ear. if he won he got the $50 and his lip ring back. At the start of this game my buddy comes in and i tell him whats going on and he just sits back and watches as i beat him 12-0.

The lesson i learned is that even when i put my money up against practly nothing and i know i can win I'm going to shoot the best i possibly can with no pressure. (even though i know there will be more pressure situations to come this is the first step)

Have any of your guys and ladies played for somethings rediculus like that? or even something better.

By the way i have his lip ring in my wallet next to anoter friends dredlock that he lost to me in a bet also.

Low stakes

I once played a pro a race to 11 for a reuben sandwich. We played hard and there were peolpe watching thinking I was going to get snapped off for big bucks! I held my own as long as I could but lost 7-11 and had to spring 4.95. There was a minor tiff about the chips because we didn't specify basket or plan sandwich. It was settled with no broken thumbs and we are still friends! :p

My best friend does not gamble, however, when he and I play for $.25 (yes, a quarter) a game 9-ball, you'd think he was Efren  . For a quarter a game, he tortures me for a chocolate cow, i'll play a little harder. :D

The quarter a game is simply a mind game to me, i'm actually a better player, but I don't like to gamble with my friends, even if it is for a measly quarter. ;)

When my friend and I first started playing we used to gamble with each other for a buck a game, or a soda, or who had to buy the first pitcher of beer that night. One night, playing for a buck, he lapped me 3 times around the table, using the diamonds as markers, and to this day he won't let me forget about it. Neither one of us could play at all, but he swears he was running racks on me. LOL. He plays in a league in So. Cal. now and he still tells that story to whoever will listen to it. Great guy, love em to death! Funny thing about it, I don't think he ever got paid? Hell, we got so drunk all the time, he probably paid me 10 fold. Anyway, that's one of my all time favorite pool nights, out with my best friend in life, and gettin beat on like a red-headed step-child!

When I used to play golf at the weekend very early in the morning, only one member of a twosome had to be there to sign up for the tee off time. Typically, this meant arriving to the golf course at about 5 AM, which got you a tee time of about 9 AM.

I once played my favorite golfing partner a set of nine ball where the loser would have to go and sign us up at the golf course on the next Saturday morning. Sad to say I lost that one.

I think the most rediculous thing i've ever played for was a locker at my school. About 3 years ago my friend thought he could beat me so we took it to the table and I came out with the better locker :D.

I have a friend who I used to play a weekly match with. We would each pick a side of the table and mark our games with a quarter. First one to the other end got to keep both quarters.

We played each other regularly for much higher stakes, but that weekly quarter match was always the most competitive, because it meant bragging rights all week.

Last year I won a BJ from a girl in a game of 8 ball. She was already down $20 bucks, and didn't have any more cash. Hey, she wanted to keep going....

Wow, playing for BJ's!

I don't want to play you!...I doubt I could handle that kind of pressure...come to think of it, winning wouldn't be much fun either:( :p

Not sure what that means but it's darn funny LOL

In Hamilton OH, they are called Yoohoos. A chololate flavored drink in a bottle.

Or, if you're in a bar, Kaluha and cream.

Where is this kind of action? I'd love to get in a game with a female playing for those kind of stakes.

I used to play a very good player a lot just practicing.
I would get very heavy weight or we would each play the ghost with me
playing 9ball and using 12. Sometimes we played for $10 a set or $20.
We were friends so one night we play 2-3 sets for a movie and the
snacks. He played like Efren. It got to be a regular thing and he always played better for the movies and popcorn.
I have seen a race to 50 for a roast beef sandwich! A little nuts
there.
Also saw and guy and a girl match up for sexual favors. At least he was
a good enough guy to make her "pay up" in front of us!! Still dont know
what possessed her that night. We had all known her for a year or so.
Not complaining though.

Tank69... I have played for a many chocolate cows (chocolate milks).
That was back in my non drinking days.

Chocolate Cow/YooHoo, pretty much the same thing. This was back in '87-90 when I was in college back in Columbus, OH. I used to work at Player's Family Billiards.

I once played a race to 5 where the loser had to wear this pink tube top. I came out ahead 5-4 and damned if he didnt wear it the rest of the night. Funny situation to say the least.

It's possible..... :) I played her last week, but she didn't want to bet. lol.

I was in Costa Rica last spring, and there is a famous bar in Jaco Beach called the Beatle Bar. Lot's of "rental" girls, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, the Capt. of another boat and I got into a game of pool, the loser had to "pay" for the winner. Lucky for me he wasn't a pool player! :D

Next time you come out west, let me know and we'll play a few. First beer's on me.
