playing the ghost

is it better to play the ghost in a race or an ahead set?

Depends on how much time you have I guess. An ahead set would be more challenging but if you need to make it more difficult you can always add another ball to the table.

Personally I like to do races to 7 or 9 depending on how long I have to practice.

Okay I've been playing for 20 years and I don't get playing the ghost. what the hell does it mean? lol

You break and then take ball in hand and try and run out. If you run out, you win. If you don't run out, it's the ghosts turn. He never misses, so game is over, ghost wins. It's a drill to increase your runout ability. The top players play the ghost without ball in hand after the break.

And not taking BIH makes a HUGE difference I want to add:smile:. Johnnyt

If you can beat the ghost in an ahead set regularly, then you will most definitely beat it in a race.
