Playing with a phenolic tip?

I have never tried it personally, but one of my team mates on my team preferred to play with my break cue, which has the phenolic tip. She preferred the shaft thickness not the tip, BUT found out she preferred the hard tips to a softer tip from using it. The realized that she couldnt go as low or high on the CB but didnt need to to get the spin she needed as the "power from the cue was alot higher" her own words. she has learned to use a pre shot routine with it because she never chalked but her fist shot and she can run a table. so now she chalks b4 every shot

I like to practice with it-sometimes.

Helps re-groove straight stroke. Helps reinforce the value of centerball and 1/2 tip off center hits, combined with stressing natural shot angles for moving around table.

It will take chalk-applied often.

SVB could runs racks with rounded rebar. Glove would come in handy too.

Free hard tips

Obsessed with the hardness of a cue tip I think I'll end up playing with a phenolic...

Do you know anybody that does?

Besides chalk retention, is there any other negative aspect about using them in a playing cue?

Can you get the same kind of english and draw using a phenolic?

I like hard tips because of the confidence they give me and the accuracy I feel... cause I have tried all kinds of softs and meds but I can't even control the strenght when I use those (much less the position where the cue ball is going to end)...

Anyone here has the same feeling?
