I have never tried it personally, but one of my team mates on my team preferred to play with my break cue, which has the phenolic tip. She preferred the shaft thickness not the tip, BUT found out she preferred the hard tips to a softer tip from using it. The realized that she couldnt go as low or high on the CB but didnt need to to get the spin she needed as the "power from the cue was alot higher" her own words. she has learned to use a pre shot routine with it because she never chalked but her fist shot and she can run a table. so now she chalks b4 every shot
