I was curious to see what everone else thought on here about playing with more with just one cue. I have several cues I play with and I'm thinking its hurting my game by doing this. Anyone else on here play with more then just one cue?

I think, whenever you can eliminate a variable in pool, it's to your advantage. Obviously, playing with the same cue all the time is eliminating a variable.

I think you should stick with one....
I also think that you havent found your "cue " yet... once you do you'll know it !

OTOH...its mostly mental and as long as you dont become attached to a certain cue your game might actually be better

The problem is all of my cues hit great! I have a hard time choosing which one I want to play with. Its kinda like Hugh Hefner trying to decide which playmate he wants for the night. Well maybe its not that difficult. :D

You're really only supposed to use one at a time. ;)

I myself play with more than one cue, made by the same maker though. Every cue has strong-points, and a deficiency of some sort, in the way it performs. IMO, playing with only 1 cue IS the best way to improve because you know without a doubt what it will, or won't do. Playing with more than 1 cue, you honestly don't have that luxury. Some shafts may do something just a LITTLE different, even when made by the same maker...Its just a characteristic of the wood used in it, and there's no way for the cuemaker to be able to know before-hand, so they're not to blame. I'm in the process of finding that 1 cue for myself, then look out! I feel I play pretty well now, even using all the cues I use, but if I myself could narrow it down to just one, ooooohh what a GREAT DAY that would be!!! My problem is that I, for now, am unable to use just 1 cue all the time because I get bored easily, and have to mix it up to keep my sanity. I'm not that fond of the way I play because I KNOW I have more potential in this game, I just need to cancel out the variables and I'm on my way!

i have 3 or 4 cues that i love and used to go back and fowarth but since i settled down and only play with one now my game has improved a lot. i switch every now and again but stick mainly to 1 cue.

Thats what I think I need to do. I just have to figure out which one.

Hey bnall,
You have too many GREAT cues in your collection, I would hate to see you only use just one...

I have two cues I rotate depending on how I am hitting the balls. One I consider my right but if I am getting out of line with english or shots, I will get the sneaky out and it helps bring the stroke back in line.

I agree that using one cue is favorable, but also agree not to build a crutch on playing with that one cue. Playing great with any cue will build your over all confidence. Besides, who wants to call their main cue everywhere they go. :P j/k

i can play with more than one cue, it took along time- years and years, to be able to switch without having major problems playing my normal speed, i need an hour to adjust to almost any cue. Some cues I just cant play with it takes me 15 minutes to figure that out.

I have 4 cues that I played with for years, I dont need any time to play good with because I have used them so much/long they are second nature.

the problem with cues is the the same with good looking girls, i just cant say no and have to play with all of them i own(cues) or on my list(girls). I'm lucky enough to have lots of both, it took me longer to get my game right with the girls than pool, and my game with girls is stronger than my pool game. My girl game could give my pool game the 5 and the break all day long-it took years to learn. I talk better than I play pool-like tooth. ;)

I agree, however I also feel that you need t find the right cue for you.

everyone tells me to stick with one cue, but I have so many, I want to play with all of them. I think that certain position shots suffer by not being used to the cue you are playings with, pocketing balls dosen't seem to be affected as much.

cues cues and more cues

I say put a smile on yer face and play with them all. There's 8-ball 9-ball straight pool big table small table 1pocket. Is that what radial consistency is 1 cue? Are we advising him to pick with the grain or without the grain for soft or hard hit. each cue maker is looking to make the cue the way he feels it should be made. its a fancy looking tool. Its art, we try. Talisman BK on martinez I have 2-3 shafts each cue Gilbert,Phillippi,Joss, And Amboyna Reyes with jump cue. You can do anthing you want and nobody can make you feel anthing. There is no right answer you have your own stroke with all the different cues. If you don't play with them how are you going to decide which is the best. How many hours does it take to get the feel of a cue? 100. Tips Kamuibrand.co watch movie clips
