Please help identify this Meucci Original Cue

Monday this week a gentleman walked into my store wanting to sell his cue. It turned out to be a Meucci Original Cue that I have never seen and can not find listed in any of the books or the on-line websites that have an archive with the older Meucci cues listed. Well the price was right so I bought the cue, and over the last couple of days I have refinished it in preparation of putting it in the Pro-shop area of my Pool Room for sale.

The cue is perfectly straight together and apart, unlike most of these older cues the shaft is all original down to the ferrule, and best of all it is still 13mm. Last I did not cover the new wrap with finish like it was originally.

Any help in identifying this cue would be great, thanks in advance.

that i am unsure of.. i havent seem a alot of them, i have seen a few with the originals logo and the new logo, i believe they were only made that short time and they are one of the nicer cues in my opinion.. but i dont know what a value would be on it.. maybe one of the resident meucci collectors could chime in..

Thanks Chris, I appreciate the information

The price I would say$400.00 if perfect shape, full size 13mm tip.

Thanks for the information, like I said above I just refinished the cue and it is perfectly straight along withe shaft being 13mm

Thanks agin for your post.

If I remember correctly, the m10 had the Script logo,,,,,,,so this one is an 88-3.

The re-finish may help it sustain some value, but I doubt it adds anything. The $400 value someone added in my opinion may be a bit high,,,,though it seems a reasonable starting point,,,,but you never know,,,,,,,these cues are getting harder to come by. As with anything else, the value will end up being whatever someone will actually pay.

Thanks for the information, the most important factors about this cues condition is the fact that it is dead straight and the shaft is all original from the diameter 13mm down to the original ferrule. The only modification I made was leaving the wrap exposed during the refinish. However, if I have a customer who want the cue completely original I can chnage the wrap back to Black and clear over it. As the cue sit right now it is in perfect condition, in fact it may be in better condition than when it left the factory!:D

In the end I do not really care if I sell it or not I may just put the cue away for another 10 years and see how it fairs then!!

Dead straight Meuuci! You have a rare cue there. That alone should add 25% to the price.

That is pretty much the case, but with the old cues it is much more common.

I bought one in about 1986. Played lights out,I spun the cue ball better with that cue then any other I've ever had. In fact one night I put so much spin on the cue ball that the earth stopped rotating for a nano second!
But after 6 months or so the ferrule cracked and the cue warped.
Too bad it was one hell of playing cue.

This cue also plays real good, and since it is still straight after all these years I don't think that warpage is anything to consider or be concerned about. I am going to list this cue in the wanted / for sale section later today.

Take Care thanks for the posts.

That cue/model was my very first!

Man, that's a cue from the past. That exact model was my first good playing cue back in the mid 1980's. Before that it was house cues! It hit great, played great, I remember that I traded it for an It's George 3x6. Back then they were $320 or so new.
When you come up with a price let me know!
