Please remove the crap!

How can you not see it?

this thread is meaningless.

do you not see the useless confontational threads that have popped up lately?

Why would anyone want that type of thread in the main forum?

You may not agree with me, but this thread is not meaningless.

please, please, please!!

Remove the controversial threads that had pool in the title but are only meant to create arguments.

That is not what the main forum is for.

Slim

You must be new around here.

How is this topic any better? Are you the forum police?

Answers to questions.

no, i do not want to be the forum police.
no, i am not new around here.
I joined this forum to read about & discuss pool related subjects with other people.
If i wanted to read about peoples political views i would have joined a different forum or i would spend my time in the npr forum.
I don't post a lot because i have found out that many times what you post does not come across as you intend it to.
I think this is a good venue to learn about & discuss what you know about pool.
I just wish the non pool related subjects would not be allowed to linger in this forum & don’t feel shy about expressing my opinion about.

Here’s to pool,

Doesn't matter what the topic is, certain members on here get a kick out of starting flame wars, and go out of their way to do it. The topics don't need censoring, some members do.;)

Like when someone makes a negative comment about a deceased pool player in a thread started as a way to give respects.

Surely anybody with a hint of sense would know doing something like that would start a flame war.

This forum is great, but sometimes it's just too big for its own good. It's a good representation of your average city... plenty of good people and plenty of not-so-good people.

When I first started posting in forums, I also realized my posts didn't come across as intended. I have a very sarcastic type of humor. Sarcasm is very difficult to convey in a forum especially when your audience is so diverse.

All in all, I think posting in a forum has helped my communication skills a little. Look what it has done for Fatboy's spelling! ;)

everyone can have their own opinion.
I just want it to be about pool.

Just watched a movie called Talk Radio bout a abusive, confrontation talk radio host. This is based somewhat on the murder of Alan Berg, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Berg.

In the movie, there is a reoccurring theme. People would call in, tell him how much they hated him and his show and so on.

Well, his question to the callers was "Why do you listen? Why don't you just change the station or turn off the radio if you don't like what you hear?"

Something applies here.

Watch the movie, you might learn why you hate the crap, but you still read it.

As for flame wars..........think of what it takes to have a fire, three things....fuel, heat, oxygen.

Same with a flame war.....it takes three things......take one away, no flame war. Meaning everyone has a choice to get into to a flame war. No one makes them do so. It's all on their on accord, usually trying to prove themselves right when someone disagrees or better then others. Maybe the biggest reason is SDS.(small dick syndrome)

To me, anyone that gets into a flame wars are weak, insecure people.

How do ya like this crap?

This thread has nothing to do with flaming.

duckie,

i stop reading a thread as soon as i realize that it is not pool related.
On this particular forum i do not think the members should have to sort thru non pool related political threads to get to pool related threads.

I did not, have not & will not flame anyone for an opinion about pool.

I am not sure how or why things get swayed off topic.

Hmmmm. Start a non-pool related thread in the main forum complaining about non-pool related threads in the main forum.

I'm hitting the bad button! (which is what you do, not this)

The doctrine of non-intervention

Stirring muddy waters does not clear things up....
..sometimes you just have to let it be

The other side of the coin...
Regardless of the original premise, a thread can become meaningless or
meaningful.....
..it's up to us

The threads about Mueler and Mark Griffin started as a knock....
..they came out looking pretty good
