Please support the Action Challenge!

thats a stand up thing to do, when it gets bigger no doubt some people will lose their connection or have problems, it would be wise to carefully word a discalimer telling customers that their could be problems to mitigate any hostilitys with your customers-because there will be so many in the future, i can help you with this-I'm in a similar business, it also covers your ass too. we'll talk about it later, i have spent millions on legal fees over the past 11 years to resolve issues like this with mass marketing of one product-similar to a PPV on a computer. right now in its infancy its not important but when you get 2000 buys per show you'll need to protect your self. it is also a responsible thing to do, educate your buyers that there is a risk of loss of connection etc, and your not willfully taking their $$$, its accidental.

call me when your ready.

Not sure what you are referring to.

Tell me what the problem is and I will fix it.

What did you buy and when?

Jamie (cajunbarboxplayer) is a stand-up guy and y'all offered something out of your store for the Pay-Pal not working correctly, he posted back and evidently it did not happen. We in Central Louisiana love this sort of pool match-up and want y'all to be successful and certanly will support you. In fact we really look forward to it.

How about having Run Out Radio support the Action Challenges as well. I love listening to the ROR podcasts but have yet to hear anything mentioned at all about anything the Action Report is involved in.

There was ZERO reporting on the Olathe Ring Game, no mention of the results, no mention of the free webcast efforts of TAR. There has neen no mention of the Action Challenge 1 either before or after the event.

It would be great if the startups would get together. ROR and TAR are two BRIGHT spots in American Pool right now. You all should be supporting each other in a major way!

At least in my opinion.

I apologize if I came off as a A-Hole....Not intended.......jsut that I didnt receive a pm after I had pm'd yas bout it. its all good JCin. PM on its way and I am looking forward to future events. Thanks! for the support peeps!

Unfortunately it didn't work well on my Mac, I don't know if others also had trouble. When I get a new Mac that can run Windows, that won't be an issue.
Just wanted to say, I read somewhere on here or on theactionchallenge.com site, that the PPV would not work with Macs, or without IE. Something like that. So that was the reason I didn't buy a "ticket" also. Don't know if there are enough of us Mac users to make a difference or not, but there are some of us.

How long before we can purchase stuff using a Visa or online visa like epassporte or something? My old paypal account has some issues. I am ready to buy!

When I click on the flyer on the site I get some encrypted mumbp jumbo. Why is that?
Just right click on the flyer and "Save Target As". It will save as a PDF.

You can use a credit card without using your PayPal account. We will have a much more thorough FAQ next time explaining everything.

We got it to work well on a Mac using the FlipForMac program. We will put everything in the FAQ before the next one.

Challenge matches were a big part of pool up until about 1960. In the early days a champion was crowned at these events. The hotels and ballrooms where they held them were sold out and the major newspapers did write ups on the players and matches before and after. If the powers that be that run TV sports programing see that enough people hold an intrest in pool they might jump on it big like poker. Johnnyt

Very insightful reply------thanks Mr. Johhnny.

I wish I could allocate the time to watch the pay per views but I just cannot sit in front of my computer for that long of a time, plus I'm afraid of missing anything by getting up... but you can count me in on puchasing the DVD sets when you release them... speaking of which, the SVB vs CD Action Challenge 1 should be on my doorstep waiting for me when I get home according to the tracking information. Lots a pool to watch tonite!!!

I would consider a dvd set, but I can't stand watching things on my PC even if I wanted to sit in front of it that long.

I have a newer intel based mac and I tested the stream on it using Mozilla Firefox and the flip for mac program as well...the stream worked fine, but there was no way to go to full screen mode. I ended up watching the match on Windows XP box, but depending on what you're ok with, it is watchable. Was anyone able to get full-screen using the flip for mac program?

I have Flip for Mac installed, but it only plays through Quicktime. It works like a plugin. I think when I first installed it a couple years ago it had a standalone application, but now that is gone. I just installed the latest version a week or two ago too.

Next "Challenge" if they have a preview like last time I'll give it a shot. That's the only way to know for sure.

Oh, I'm using the 2nd last generation 12" Powerbook. I desperately want an Intel Mac, but this one is still working fine.
