I'm not proud of this, but a few years ago I spent a few weeks in the box over a rash, and unwarranted remark I made regarding one of our members heritage. Totally uncalled for on my part, but I did the deed then did the time.
Now, as I look back over my sullied past, I have come to realize how much this forum has allowed me to become the better person that I now am by showing me my evil ways, then gently, but firmly, guiding me to the place in life at which I now stand.
In addition, I am certain this influence has helped me in my daily life, as well. I am nicer to the young ladies who work at the pool hall, I beg your pardon, Sports Bar and Grill, as well as my fellow shooters who play there.
I call my Mother more often now.
I no longer kick small dogs.
Why, just the other day I put a dollar bill in the Salvation Army kettle, in front of the Walmart.
A week ago Tuesday I opened a door for an older Lady whose hands were full of packages. It was an automatic door, granted, but I had my foot on the pad, nonetheless.
This is why I'm grateful for AZB. As a matter-of-fact my new motto for this coming year is going to be: Ask not what AZB can do for you, but what you can do for AZB.
(Hey, pt. Do you think they bought it? Man, that was a close one.)
