I worry that it has silicone it it. I try to avoid silicone in my workspace since once contaminated with it, wood will never take finish correctly.
Interesting. Not agrueing but edjuctae me. I take it he means a cue already with a finish. I would imagine if refinished there would be no signs of pledge anywhere to be found.
I try to learn something new everyday so maybe this is it.![]()
That's the trouble. You can't get rid of the stuff. It's invisible and it gets everywhere. And it gets into every pore, even microscopic ones, so when you try to wipe it off it just gets spread around. You get a tiny amount on your finger, then an hour later touch something else...soon it's on everything in your shop. And then you try to do your refinish job and it's fisheye city!

i wouldn't use carnuba wax unless you know the finish is aged
120-140 days minimum /QUOTE]
i agree.the reason being that most auto finishes actually still cure even up to a year after spraying.the wax can trap the vapors inside and cause problems in the finish.
it is the same as a car or a new paint job,you never want to wax new paint.
i spray Dupont and it says on the label DO NOT WAX for first 120 days after painting.
And why would that be? I mean, what does the age of the finish have to do with it?
I can't speak for Mason but most car clear want you to wait 120-140 days minimum before waxing.
The Pledge would be fine to use on a finished cue butt. Avoid getting it on the wrap or shaft. But to shine your cue it would be better to use polishing material and buff it on a lathe. That way the shine is more permanent. Pledge only gives a temporary shine.
