Isn't that along the lines of the Kamui knock-offs that have been passed around? An obviously inferior tip being branded high class and sold at the same price. What makes these tips different from those Kamui knock-offs? That's the point that Agaent17 is trying to make.

I will say this though, for TomHay to be a complete unknown on the forum, ?.and to get where he has by using the forums to promote his tips, he's done a good job.

I made a mistake? Ok yeah sure. This thread has never been about Kamui knock-offs nor was any reference ever made regarding knock-offs. And the anonymous poster wasn't referring in any way about knock-offs.

Hits' em Hard, unlike Agent17 I don't believe you have an agenda. I think you are just misinformed. The Kamui knock offs you speak of are counterfiet's using the same name and selling for the same price which if you look up are a MSRP of $20.00 plus dollars.

The Tips I sell have a differant hit that some will enjoy, others won't and my MSRP is $3.20.

You have never tried my Tip yet for all of the world to see you want to post it as an obviously inferior tip even though through itrader the people who have tried it and their customers seem to like it very much.

Agent17 you will find on every Forum in the world or one just like him. He is the guy in a crowded auditorium that likes to yell FIRE and watch everyone trip over themselves. The height of his enjoyment is after everything is settled down watching and listening to people who swear they smelled smoke.

You say you do not know of me which I understand fully but see no arguement about Tom Hay being my birth name and name I live under every day yet you choose to follow the means of Agent17 whom I don't believe is the son of James Agent17. With you it is not about the question, it was the method. You asked a question and rather than send a PM pointing out you would like it answered you posted again making it look like I was ignoring you when I truly believed I was under a 48 hour rule to post back.

You bring up this great deal time and time again both here and in PM's. You want me to give full disclousure yet you run and hide when asked about it. Educate me as I have asked before, what EXACTLY is this big deal I missed out on and why do you think I would agree or think it was a good deal for me? I gave all but full disclousure yet you give nothing.

I wake up in the morning, I have to be Tom Hay. I like that part. You wake up in the morning and you are who ever you want to be.

Yes I have been succesful in my business life. I got calls all during it from people that said, you do this and I will let you reap endless business and my reply is always the same, it starts with the first order and we take every order after that and see where it goes. Trying to live on false promises, no matter the true intention makes people wait, we got a Home Run coming, stop everything and concentrate on this promise. As many times as people try they always find when they get to the end of a check out line at a grocery store the cashier and management will not take 1st or 2nd party promises for payment. People that live by this type tactic usualy put themselves out of business.

As far as business goes yes, sadly I may lose a few customers but they will be welcomed back at any time. In the mean time since I decided to show some back bone to back up my name I have gained many customers and have had to clear my PM box twice from well wishers letting me know how much they have enjoyed my tips and others urging me to not take the B.S.

You are running scared of me, I can smell it. Joe is in competition with me and is 1 1/2 hour away but he is being the profesional as I believe he smells it as well. In the mean time if you had a unique part to fill for your business you still do, hope that person is not going grocery shopping this week.

Hey Tom not to get off subject:grin:. But I've been shooting with one of your soft tips off and on for the last couple of weeks. Although I mainly shoot with a medium or hard tip. I told you I'd give it a test run and get back to you with my thoughts. (1) They hold their shape no mushrooming. (2) They hold chalk like a pit bull on a t-bone (3) No glazing (4) The price. I'd pay more for a better tip. But I can't really tell difference between these and the $30 tips out there. So why would I pay more? I really can't wait to try the medium and hard that I also got from you. As far as anybody wanting to know your secrets they are yours. So keep them to yourself. I'd like to see how far these guys would get asking the top cue makers for their secrets. There's an old saying two people can keep a secret as long as one of them is dead.:wink: Or as my dad use to tell us kids when we was whining for something we couldn't have. My "rant" in post #29 on page 2 was neither "hypocritical" nor did I take your words "out of context". It's hard to defend your actions when your own words and timeline prove otherwise.

Because it doesn't work economically. There is the same amount of effort in faking a $3 tip as it does to fake a $25 tip. By the time you buy the tip and have it labeled, there is no room for profit when doing it with a $3 tip.

Additionally, I don't see the infatuation as to where they are made. What's the difference if they are made in Tom's back yard or Timbuktu? If the tips play well and you like it, are you going to not use it if you found out it was made in Timbuktu?

Well to start off with, a computers components will be branded with the manufacturer and country it's made in too. So no I don't need to call anyone up, all the information is already available on the web. If that's where your tips are made, then so be it. Nothing more for me to want to know, I just don't see why that was such a big deal.

Its not over, my privacy was very meaningfull to you, you had to have it but oh well, gives me time to tell a story.

Many years ago a guy screwed me over in Pool, made me look bad. I found out a Bar he hung out at every Friday. I hired a Call Girl (Hooker) and she went to the bar Friday Night. She turned guys down hitting on her like crazy but showed a little attention to the guy that screwed me. He got kind of hot about bringing the girl home. She was willing but first they had to play a game she knew which involved drinking multiple shots.

When the game was over they hoped in his car. The shots however made the girl sick and she told the guy he needed to pull over as she was going to throw up. I can't remember the year exactly but it was long ago as I had one of those old Motorola Brick phones. I called 911 and reported a car, licence number and location and explained a car was swerving all over the road. The hooker circled around and jumped in my car. A few minutes later a Cop car arrived and pulled the guy out of the car.

I drove by, with top down slowly and beeped and yelled Hi Brian, the Hooker blew him a kiss. The guy got so mad he pushed one of the Police officers. In the paper the next day I read where Brian was arrested for DWI and assulting a Police officer (there was no DUI back then).

Never played the guy in pool again. I think maybe its because in the 6 months he got which included time off for good behavior he got to make new friends.

I don't know why that story came to mind. I don't even recall why I went to all that trouble, just snapped, had to relieve the stress.

I know the question has been asked but I have not been on the forum much recently, so:

Do you manufacture these yourself, in the USA?

Or are they manufactured by a third party, either USA or overseas?

I ask this question because I have seen similar layered tips from my far east contacts and would like to know for certain, before buying, that yours are different, specifically that the quality is consistent and guaranteed.

I think to answer Agent17's question:

Irregardless of where the tips are manufactured, Tom's tips are advertised (and guaranteed?) to be consistent batch after batch, as Tom verifies this by retipping with each batch.

Mike Lambros, one of the most respected cue makers known for his superior engineering and quality has spoken to Tom's tips as the best most consistent tips available.
