Pocket Chalker Addiction

I got a pocket chalker for Christmas this year, and I love it. I can't believe I lived without it for so long. I actually tried to get one and couldn't find one to order, but I was home for Christmas and my brother got one for me.

I was just wondering how many of you all use these. Having used it for the last couple of months, I find myself confused when it isn't in my pocket if I'm playing. It's automatic for me to reach for it, even when it's not there. I found my hand looking for it at work today (no I don't have a table in my classroom).

Anyways, just thought that was kind of funny. How do the rest of you feel about these? Anyone tried one and not liked it?

yup, i'm addicted too! it's automatic for me now to reach for it. one night the cord on mine broke so i had to go without it and i felt all out of sorts. kept reaching for some chalk that wasn't there, hehe. i wish pool was more like snooker where chalk isn't allowed on the table. i think it clutters the table up and gets it dirtier as well. the best chalker i've found is the euro chalker, great product

Pocket chalkers are about as bad as wearing a glove.

I'm sorry.....but it is true.

Thats great, thanks for your opinion.

I love mine, nothing better then when my opponent has to go over to he pitcher sitting on top the change machine and graps the 'Jack Daniels' chalk.

I don't use either, but can't really fathom what is "bad" about either a glove or a pocket chalker. Please enlighten us.

You shouldn't say that. What if his poolroom has no chalk? I mean, my poolroom has chalk there already so I don't worry but what if his doesn't?

I never used one when I lived down south. Once I moved WAY up north and most of the pool were played in a bar and the bar chalk was always some off brand or color or worse it was all the down to the tape. If I brought a good chalk, it all ways ended up confiscated, lost or forgot. I went to the pocket chalk clip on and off model. I loved it, but since then I have moved back to the south and there seems to be too many chalks on tables. I have not had to use it for 4 years now. I still have it though. I do agree with the glove thing. I would tather be covered in talc then use one of them. :D

I am just happy.....

you don't have a pocket pool addiction. :D:D

I don't use a pocket chalker or anything but I do use my own chalk and luckily have the habit of picking it up after each shot - make or miss.

what is with all the glove and pocket chalker haters? they're just simple tools and they can be useful. if they help you and you like, use it. if not, don't. but there's nothing wrong with them, i'm sick of all the people ragging on it. get a life

I have started using my tan chalk from home, it keeps your hands and shaft a lot cleaner. I take it to the pool hall and it really doesn't leave any marks on the green felt like I thought it would. I never thought I would like the tan felt on my table I home, but now I love it, your hands never get dirty like the green felt does.

Actually, they get just as dirty. You still have to wash your hands.

Exactly, it just doesn't show up like blue or green, think of all of the tan Masters that dude has eaten

"Yes, sir. We found out the cause of your stomach ache. After pumping your stomach, it appears there is a chalk-like residue coating the inside of your stomach. We weren't certain because it was tan so it was completely invisible to us but then we saw the Masters Chalk wrapper and we knew what we were dealing with."

That guy should just start chalking up with some Tums, no miscues or stomach ache

i just put my chalk in my pocket after chalking. For me it's all about consistency, Just one less variable to have changed on my game. If i was used to picking it up off the ledge, that would be fine too I guess. Personally I consider it rude to leave your chalk on the table for it is distracting to some....

Holy Crap, I was just joking. Everyone calm down. Close your eyes and imagine buckets of Sir Joseph Gloves and Pocket Chalks for all.

YIKES!

P.S. I carry my own chalk to the pool room in case they are out of the nice, crisp new cubes of Masters.
