Pocket Chalker Addiction

Not a fan. I don't see what's so hard about grabbing a cube as opposed to having it hanging from your pocket. And it feels weird when chalking.

It obviously doesn't make a difference in your game at all (it actually might get you more action) but to me it was just a bad invention that caught on (so maybe it was good?)... It's like having a 'remote controll grabber' that picks up your remote controll for you, but only at close distances.... IDK... Pocket Chalkers ftl, imo.

Where I am, they don't use Master's chalk. I don't like Triangle (I swear I can tell a difference, it gets on my hands more). Because of this, I use my own Master's or Blue Diamond chalk, which I tend to forget every time I leave the table/pool room (for a while everybody was calling me "goldfish" because I always forgot things). Now that I have one, I appreciate that I don't have big holes drilled into my chalk from other people using it.

Just as long as none of you are one of those guys that always has it dangling from their pocket at work, desperately hoping someone will instigate a conversation with you about it.

Now, do I know anyone like that? I'll never tell...

Tried one and didn't like it. I always carry my own but not with a holder. Got sick of having to reach for it all the time. Pain in the ass.

i just put my chalk in my pocket after chalking. For me it's all about consistency, Just one less variable to have changed on my game. If i was used to picking it up off the ledge, that would be fine too I guess. Personally I consider it rude to leave your chalk on the table for it is distracting to some....

Really? Rude?

I need to get another pocket chalker because a pro I practice with weekly gets ticked when he moves to take a shot and there is chalk on the rail near him. He sometimes flings it at me just close enough to make me flinch. He uses one attached to his belt behind his back and will use it down to the paper wrapper. What most people throw away, he keeps and plays with.

They seem like a good idea...

- Less likely to lose your chalk.
- You won't forget it on the table where your opponent will grab it and drill it.
- Your opponent won't ask you if he can use it.

Things I don't think I'd like about them...

- A thingy dangling from my chalk when I'm chalking
- More chalk marks on my pants and shirt than necessary.
- Can't make a chalk last as long due to the plastic surrounding it.

I guess you have never been locked up in a set and your low down opponent spit in the table chalk. :D

I got a pocket chalker for Christmas this year, and I love it. I can't believe I lived without it for so long. I actually tried to get one and couldn't find one to order, but I was home for Christmas and my brother got one for me.

I was just wondering how many of you all use these. Having used it for the last couple of months, I find myself confused when it isn't in my pocket if I'm playing. It's automatic for me to reach for it, even when it's not there. I found my hand looking for it at work today (no I don't have a table in my classroom).

Anyways, just thought that was kind of funny. How do the rest of you feel about these? Anyone tried one and not liked it?
What's not to like? Perfect chalk at your fingertips. The glove? Don't knock it if you haven't tried it.

"FTL"= For the Losers? OKay, once again you have enlightened us all with your omniscient opinion. Grouping every player that does something different as you a loser.

FTL = for the loss.... imo.... and before you berate because you think "imo" means something disrespectful, it means "In My Opinion".

"once again you have..." - what once again? when did I do this last? wtf?...... ohh, and "wtf" means "what the [cencored]", I would say "wth" (what the hell) but nobody does that, that's ftl (okay this time it means for the losers)...

I have to say, your post made me LOL... (that means 'laugh out loud').

Please do a google search from now on if you see an abbreviation that you don't know the meaning of before you go accusing people of doing something 'again'... even if they haven't done anything in the first place.

if you do like Pocket Chalkers, then then you need to check out these exotic ones: (several pages of them - product1, product2, etc.)

http://www.chalkysbyken.com

I bought one of these and use it in emergencies. I don't quite like the feel though in my fingers of an oversized cube versus just a normal piece of chalk.

I used to make fun of people who wore gloves. Then I saw John Schmidt use one.

I used to make fun of the pocket chalker. Then I saw Charlie Bryant use one.

Now I only make fun of the gloves.

I think I can hold John off but I ain't messing with Hillbilly.

:D :D :D

I am just kiding about John. Most people don't know it but he is a ninja.

In most chalkers you can put some quarters behind a cube of chalk to use it till it's almost gone.

When it is not your turn I would agree with him. Drives me nuts always having to move chalk around, another cube added by my opponent is just another aggravation. Rude might be too strong a word, but it bugs me.
