Pocket size? Shims, Cut? Angle? Help AZ Community

i like 4.25, they are tight but playable and you will feel like a god on most regular tables after even a few hours of play. no shims - extend the subrails. if you need more info contact mark gregory perfectpocketz - or glen realkingcobra, and they will help you make a decision. if you want i have pics of a gold crown 5 mark did here in GA. i can show you. i have posted them here somewhere before.

I'd love to see those pics. Nothing like a quality tight pocketed Brunswick....well, alomost nothing anyway.

I have a question. If you were to make all the apparent changes (rail rubbers, rail height, pocket angles ect) how would that make you a better player because yes you may be able to make the balls better but rotation would then be tough because your table would play different than any table out there.

Also I am just wonder why would you buy a diamond table only to modify how tight it is? Why not by the table the way you want to begin with?

Agree with some of the above posts, around 4.25 with a slightly shallow shelf and properly cut pockets is my favorite. It keeps me sharp without limiting what I can do at the table.

I agree with others that it really depends on more than simply the opening of the pocket. I think shelf depth is a huge factor as well.

4 1/2" is fine for most non-pros, but it depends on the pocket cut and shelf. 4 1/2" pro-cut on a Diamond is just right IMO. Johnnyt

Is it not true that a table that teaches you to "...make the balls better" makes you play better? I say it does. Therefore, how can it make any pool game tougher?

No 2 tables play exactly the same and you can't buy no damn gold crown with properly cut pockets.

John is in china.
