Point of view-Real World

It occurred to me in 8pack thread from his drawing and the segmented 8 ball pic that the point of view not like that in the real world.

The drawing has a point of view 1/2 ball above the table, the segmented 8 ball is about the same.

When do you ever have this point of view in shot making?

Here is a real world point of view of a shot.

This is what is seen in the real world. This a real world shot. Not a shot setup to show something. Not a shot that allows easy access to properly place your bridge hand in order to prove something works.

What about the spacing of the lines shown on the 8 ball in the other thread? Does the spacing stay the same or change and if so to what size spacing now?

Its one thing to look good on paper, another to work in the real world. Aiming is done in the real world not on paper or in a drawing or on a computer game.

My drawings are not about aiming, but just the geometry of a shot and not how to aim a shot. There is a difference.

I found it truly sad that few if any ever consider the vast variety of shots and shooting position that occurs in pool in when they post any thing how to. Real world shot likes this one. Or the rail first 8 ball pic I use from time to time.

Here is one of a CB buried in the rack during a 14.1 game. And no, the 4 will not go in the side nor corner since the CB is frozen to the 1. Real world. Not a set up shot to prove something, but a shot that truly tests your skills in using whatever works for you. There is no pocket to go for in that shot but is a safety shot that requires understanding how to move balls, not make balls.

Amazing how a real world point of view changes things.

Figures there be no replies.

Most aiming systems fall apart when the real world comes into play.

I know the truth is just to hard to handle at times.

I have no idea what you're actually asking. What is the main idea of this so that I can respond. A bit of clarification is required please.

You think that is the reason there are no replies? :p

Guess again.

Well tony,

i need someone who would help me to understand the question (where the hell is here a question? ....)

but anyway- - it s very funny, how someone, who has no clue (ofc just my personal opinion! don t want to speak for others!) about pivot systems, is permanently bashing them. Seems there s a big gap in his understandings......for what systems are for.

maybe the short answer helps him: every human or player needs help. every humand or player has a different learning ability. every human or player should use WHATEVER what makes playing pool easier for him.

I m still thankful for every single thing i learnt in the past 30+ years. And even more thankful for systems, advices i received, which made playing pool easier-and which has widened my horizon of knowledge.

lg from overseas.

It's like the 20th time he's made this thread... those pics are years old. Duckie, post some videos of you playing... let's see how the patch is working for you?

I don't see the point to any of this! Most aiming systems work towards shooting balls into pockets, when the pocket is not available it is always possible to use ghost ball or fractional aiming. You don't lose the ability to do that even if you use another system.

And yes, the 8 pack system would work on the rail situation, which you'd know if you actually tried it. I'm actually tempted to put on my gopro clone camera and show you how it works, but somehow I know that you'd either not watch or dismiss it for other reasons. Besides, like you know, it's not easy putting yourself and your game on display for the internet to see. I mean, people made fun of Lou Figueroa, a multiple 100 ball runner, for having the balls to enter the DCC straight pool challenge. Making cruel videos and cartoons, I hate what this place does to people sometimes...

Tell you what, if you want me to show you "point of view" how the system explained by 8-pack works, I'd be happy to make you a private video on youtube. I can't show you CTE as I'm not really as proficient with it as others here, nor can I promise you a big run, as I've never tried playing with the camera on before, and big runs are rare as it is, but I bet I could put a couple of straight pool racks away. Would that suffice?
