Points difference

How much difference in the height of points is acceptable in a medium high priced cue (between $1k-2k)?

If its a new cue I wood say maby a 1/8. But if its a older titlist or something Simula 1/2 to 3/4 and i have seen worse then that

I never let mine run off more that a 1/16 of an inch...

in that 1k to 2k I'd like them to be pretty close myself. That is a good deal of money to spend after all. Think most makers are going to strive to be as close as possible, and probably aren't going to let a cue out the door with terrible points anymore.
