Justis. Makes the cleanest yet elegant case available.

After Barton's mouthoffs on this board, I wouldn't buy anything from him. If you aren't willing to speak nicely regarding your competitors, you shouldn't be in business.

I guess you'll have to link me to anything John said negative towards competitors. I have never (knowing John for 10 years) heard him bad mouth anyone other then someone who stole his designs or InsidePool, which deserved it....
 
I said "other" because I really wish somene would put out a "classic" line of cases so I could have a new version of my old 2x4 "It's George"

I have had 3 of these cases over the last 20 years....1 burgundy 2x4 snake skin stolen...1 tan leather sold with a cue...and my last 2x4 eel skin that came from a good friend, I use it everyday, and it's about to be retired to the wall.

Brand name don't mean squat to me. Since I'm the one who usually has to carry the pool case for my counterpart, I choose the lightest weight case I can find, and the cheaper the better! Also, I like the shoulder strap to be of a material that lays right on my shoulder. :p

Gucci, Coach, and all the other name-brand pocket books look mighty pretty. However, the traits I look for when I buy a purse is how comfortable it is on my shoulder, the same as a cue case. And the cheaper, the better. :D

Last case we bought was a vinyl case, a 2-by-4, and it cost 80 bucks. I love it. It's lightweight and easy on my shoulder. It's big enough to carry everything a player needs when in competition. :)

It seems to me that the recent case discussion has been prompted by politics on this forum.

Like great pool players, each champion has something to offer and should be celebrated as such. One man's junk may be another man's pleasure! The case I like may be disgusting to the pool purists, but beauty, as they say, is in the eye of the beholder! ;)

Jack Justis - Jack makes stunning cases out a variety of leather combinations.
Whitten - Dan and Joe and family make the Jaguar of cue cases.
Jim Murnak - Jim is more my style with his willingness to try new things.
Instroke - My former company and my designs of course.
Sterling - A wide assortment of inexpensive pool cue cases - (made with my input)
Ron Thomas - Ron has revived the It's George and Fellini styles and is making great cases.
On Q Case - Garth Bair is making fine cases and specializes in the inlay designs.

Chas Clements - Chas holds a special place for me. He is a leather artist and casemaker of the highest art.
We collaborated on a few cases while I had Instroke and each one was beyond compare.
This is a sign he made for us back then, notice the intricacy.
If you can get any work done by Chas you will have a treasure for life.

I have to agree with that. I have a couple nice cases that I bought thinking I would love them. They are so friggin heavy it's like carrying around a couple bowling balls. The case I finally settled on was a cheapie that is nice and light yet still offers good protection

Check out the "Justis" ripoff thread. John has said stuff regarding Jack that I would consider unprofessional.

That's the case for me. I like to keep a low profile. I have a $50 vinyl 2 by 4. Protects the twigs good, and it don't look like it's worth stealin'.

Jack has stuck to facts. John has mouthed off, made light of Jack's designs, and has all but called the man a hack compared to him. Jack has been more than a gentleman. JB has not.

Suffice it to say that there is a LOT of history there that many are not even aware of...since the old RSB days.

I can only say good things about my experience with Jack Justis when he made my case to my exact specifications. Great communication and more than I could have hoped for and almost all who see it love it to bits. Just a bit heavy (3x6 with all the add ons). If you can't play the part of a pro why the heck not try to look like one lol. I have had it by the way for 4 years and it is in pretty much prestine condition and I play a lot and use my stuff.

If you like something relish in it but respect others for there opinions. I have a friend who got one of the instroke cases John was referring too when he collaborated with chas clements and it is incredible. Well made and a one of a kind. I tired to pry it from him before I got the Justis but he loves it.
 
I love my Thomas probably the best, but also have a sweet custom Murnak on order!
