if someone breaks your butterfly splice one piece just above the splices and the splices come lose. you can resplice a new piece above the splices using the ever popular v splice. i should also remind you to use a good quality finishing nail, with a small head. so when the repair is complete, you can use a nail punch and drive the nail head below the surface of the wood so you will not snag the said nail head.




found this cue in a bunch of old house cues i bought, i wish i could have been there during the repair process to talk with the repairman. i believe it would have been an interesting conservation.

Somebody went captain caveman on that poor cue. Ladies and gentlemen this repair brought to you by a "butcher".
 
I would have used some pretty little silver screws and made a nice design with them.

Maybe a diamond or something.
