Pool hall fights

A year or so ago, someone had posted a story about a Cajun who grew up in the swamp. Not only could he play a great game of pool, he could also handle himself in any situation. If anyone remembers who this is, maybe you can tell the story again.

He actually grew up in the woods of North Central Louisana. Not really considered a Cajun down here. He has already been mentioned in this thread. He was certainly cut from a different cloth. One of his hobbies was catching every venomus snake in North America (by hand of course), taking the snake home and throwing it in the freezer. For some reason this made the snakes coil up in the stricking position and they froze like that. A couple of days later he would take them out and put them on his shelf. He had a nice collection.

His attitude towards life is probaly best exampled by what he said to those he wagered with when he bet that he would jump off the Huey P. Long bridge in New Orleans. Just before jumping he said, "Remember, the bet is not whether I will live or not, the bet is if I will jump , so as soon as I jump, I win! "

Ther won't ever be another Scotty T.

one more

Thanks M. That was him as I remember the story about catching snakes.
Any more stories?

There are enough stories about Scotty to fill a book, but in order not to side-track this thread I will only tell one more here. This one about a bet that Scotty actually lost.

A bunch of guys were hanging out in an open area next to this lake, just drinking beer and BS'n. Scotty was always looking for a way to bet on something and he noticed a lenghty piece of PCV pipe in a trash pile. He got this not so brilliant idea to bet that he could walk across the bottom of this lake without coming up for air. He would breath through the pipe. After getting several takers, he loaded his socks and pants pockets down with rocks in order to make it easier to stay down, and started his walk out into the lake. He actually made it about half way across before he stepped in a hole and the top of the pipe went under. He nearly drowned before he could get his socks and pants off.

Yes

Are u serious?

Not sure exactley which post you were referring to with this. If it was mine about Scotty jumping from the bridge, then the answer is yes. He did in fact jump, he did in fact swim out of the river, and he did in fact collect the cash. Some people who claimed to be on the bridge at the time say that he agreed to jump from a higher point on the bridge than where people jump from when committing suicide in order to raise the bets. That part may or may not be true. Next time I talk to him, I'll try to remember to ask him about that.
