Ive been told the afterlife Is a fairy tale. There is no scientific evidence to prove it.

The same "scientists" tell me to believe in a "theory" there are multiple dimensions and alternate universes. None of which are supported by provable evidence.

Maybe death is nothing more then moving from one dimension to another? Just as plausible an idea as any scientist has to offer, and just as un provable. It's called faith.

Mankind was given free will, not everyone can handle it. George Carlin described the God of Hollywood {the one he knew} perfectly, but that is a false God. I hope it was forgiven . I believe we are looking forward to extremely difficult times, I pray that as many of us as possible can either discover, renew ,or hold onto our faith , during these times. God made a promise, not to give us more than we can bear, stay strong.

Google seems to think that 107 Billion people have lived on earth.
Soldiers killed in wars are estimated between 1% and 1.5% of population base of that instant in time
That puts the total above 1B.
So, I stand by my claim.

Oh, and BTW, the calendar went from 1BC to 1 AD so there is no year 0.
The google estimate is for Homo Sapien Sapien 200,000 years, if you add Homo Sapien to this you about double the count over 700,000 years.

There is no reason to believe that wars started at year 0 (which does not exist).

Certainly the Egyptians had plethora of wars over 7,000BC-500BC, as did the sub Continental Indians 5,000BC-<well>present, Persians 7,000BC-<well> present, to say nothing about the tribes in Africa, Asia, Middle East, South America, ..... and every corner of the world for most of all known history.

If/when somebody had something somebody else wanted, and somebody else had enough bodies to throw at the problem, lots of people dies, and they got what they wanted.

In the BC era, something around 10% of soldiers on both sides dies every battle. There was a famous battle in Italy where 300,000 people died in one battle.

But I digress

Why does a loving god allow deformed children to be born ??

Rational to believe in something for which there is absolutely no evidence?
OR
Rational to believe in exactly 1 of the 236 religions in the world today?
At Least 23 of which have no supreme being.
No;
It is more rational to believe in exactly 0 of the 236 religions, and at least search for what is really going on--you know--do real science !
I had a religious upbringing yet I fully believe in evolution, not creation.

Absurd in the face of children's cancer wards, the Holocaust, atrocities of innocent women burned-alive at witch trials in the name of religion.

For those who think they have it all figured out, congrats. For those who haven't figured it out, congrats to you too. The one thing I know for sure, I don't know it all. I'm confident that I only know a small piece of this big puzzle. This wonderful and expansive universe is bigger than all of us and I can't explain it. The universe doesn't exist without us, we are part of it. There are things I can't explain and nobody else (as much as they claim so) can either. There truly does seem to be opposing factors throughout the universe. So why is it so strange to not think there is good and evil, love and hate, life and death? Did man invent math or it was already there and we just discovered it? How is it so perfectly balanced and driven by mathematical equations? So why is it so strange to believe that there is a power greater than us? Believe in something larger than yourself. If you don't believe in God, then so be it. What about believing in the betterment of mankind? Is that too much to ask in this selfish world? Maybe it is for some.

And yet more people have been killed in the name of God than for any other reason 🤔
I think you got some reading to do. The atheists Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot have been estimated to be responsible for over a hundred million deaths of their own people. Many other millions have died that has nothing to do with religion. And many evil men using religion as a front should not prove that religion is responsible for their crimes.

Its like you want to judge the game of pool by your experience in dive bars.

The bible has the answers, but not everyone can see them. I hope you will pray, and the veil is lifted for you. I pray that for everyone.

Why does a loving god allow deformed children to be born ??
I know this might not be a direct correlation to what you mean, but for what it's worth.....
My best buddy growing up, I was his best man and he was mine, he and his wife lived around the block from my first house after getting married. Our wives were pregnant at the same time, with theirs being due about 3 months before ours. Their baby was born with Down Syndrome. With my wife and I still going through the last trimester, we realized that all the problems we had were incredibly insignificant, and it took a serious toll. One of the guys from a different lab at work said something in passing that sticks with me to this day. He said that sometimes God gives us a look at what may very well be another version of perfect, no hate, no malice, just a trusting, happy soul.
I know that really isn't what you meant, but since that has helped me gain perspective through the years, I'll offer it up to kind of pay forward what my coworker did for me a long time ago.
