I am from CA but am working around Shelby NC for the next 3 weeks. Looking for a pool hall within an hours drive (found bars with 1 or 2 tables but not a pool hall yet). Any help would be awesome!

The rock house. Gastonia. About 30-35 mins from Shelby. 9 ft diamonds and bar tables.
Hey, I don't personally live there but this is 100% the reason I created ChalkySticks. It was originally meant for when I traveled to places I've never been and wanted to find pool tables near me.
I found about 17 in your area, some halls some bars. It's free, check it out. It might be able to help.
This looks like a VERY cool app...gonna have to try it out.
Thanks. It's been only me so far so there may be some bugs, or missing information, but I spend a lot of time on building out the tools, maintaining it, adding new locations / imagery, etc.
It's mostly set for major cities right now, but you'll probably be able to find things near you (albeit short on data possibly). I've had some volunteers helping me out in different parts of the world add more locations.

LWC- I went and played at Friendlys, very nice people and a cool old pool hall! It is the closest and I will be returning soon.
Wayne Ward- I also went to the rock house, they had league tonight so I was only able to play for about an hour. Those diamond tables were nice! Also very nice people.

Mattkenefick- I couldn't get the site to work properly. Then I realized I probably needed to allow the site to access my location. I was just playing with it and it looks awesome! Also, is there anyway for a user to add pictures or a room that's not listed, such as Friendlys? I look forward to using Chalkysticks a lot in the future!
Woodyosborne- I remember the owner of Chandlys showing the pictures of that place on here and I thought it would be an awesome room to visit. I should be getting a day off soon and just might have to drive up that way to check it out.

+1 on Randolph's. Been there more than a few times. Don't know if they are still having their weekly tournaments. Had a pretty good B&R pot going for a while. Others might be able to chime in about that.
Site generally needs your location to work properly because it shows locations and beacons based on your area. It doesn't tell anyone where you are specifically, but tries to give you suggestions based on your location. As for photos, they are coming! There's a spot right now where you can "Revise a location", but it doesn't allow for photos --- yet!
weekly tourney/break and run are gone from Randolph's. lots of players making drive to larger room at chandley's
I'm thinking that the local police harassment of Randolph's shut down the B&R.
Damn shame. Entire city wants him to drop the lease.

I am glad you enjoyed yourself, they are nice people at Friendlys. Call Randolphs before making the trip to make sure they are open (they open at 4pm). I think they had some problems and might be temporarily closed. Chandleys is a great new place with 49 diamonds, 7' 9' and the 10'. Might be a trip from where you are but definitely worth it. If you are looking for a little one pocket I know someone who might be interested. There used to be a place south of shelby in Gaffney , SC but I am checking to see if they are still open. I hope you enjoy your stay here in North Carolina.

Randolph's lost their liquor license for 30 days over the poker tournament last fall.
I'll see if they are still having problems. They used to open at 11 am Thursday Till Sunday.
They also have a restaurant. Killer burgers, dogs and frys.
