Future Cues! That's what it was called. So I guess it is still there. I know there are strong players around there. I used to live in the area and I know everyone around there who can beat me. None of them were there though and I didn't see one person there who could get out of a wet paper bag. This was back when I still gambled and I was trying to sneak in on my way through town, hoping no one there recognized me. No action though. I think it was a Friday or Saturday night when I went and they had black light pool on the 9 footers with glow in the dark tables and balls. Kinda made me sick to my stomach to be honest.

Where are they going to fit 8 Diamond boxes in Skinny's? I hope they're expanding. I would hate to see another room getting rid of 9 footers in favor of boxes. :frown:

I just saw this. Skinny Bob's is leasing out the space next door. Put in a door and windows. That side will be non-smoking. I think they are supposed to have that side set up in the next couple weeks.

Having just moved to Austin, I'm happy to hear this. Skinny Bob's seems like the best room around but the smoke was pretty brutal when I visited on a league night. Are they planning to put some big tables in the non-smoking side, too?

I'll be at Sunday's tourney if anyone wants to say Howdy.

Mile High has 4 9-foot Diamond tables, with very tight pockets.

I thought there was 3 9 foot since they put in the 12 foot snooker table?
And the pockets are stupid tight.
Nick Varner said they were too tight.
He refused to do his exhibition on them and used a bar box instead.

Cross Corner Billiards in Lancaster, PA houses i believe six 7ft Diamond smart tables

.

For what its worthI believe Romines has 51 tables, all of which are Pro 8' & 9' Gold Crowns except for 3 coin op Valleys.

That's good to hear! Last time I was around there, that space next door was just empty and I mentioned to my wife it would be a great expansion if they were in a position to do it.

Skinny's is a great room. I played there and at Eric's (no longer open) back when it had different owners and was GQ Billiards. The new owners have done great things with that room and you won't be disappointed. Also, if you like to bet a little, there's usually action there. Friendly games aren't hard to find if that's your thing and if you really want to bet something significant, there are plenty of guys they can call to come in. Enjoy the tournament Sunday!

They made room for all four 9-footers, with two still on that same side with the snooker table.

Varner is right, those pockets are too tight for my liking as well, but I think they're great practice tables (when I go to Felt after practicing for a few days at Mile High the pockets at Felt seem like buckets).

The Downlo in Chico, CA has 10 9' Diamond Professionals. They're red label, with one of them rebuilt by RKC to blue label specs. That table is also the only Diamond on the west coast with 4" pockets according to Glen. It's the table pictured in my avatar.

I remembered that there were 3 at first. Seems they made room for the 4th after the aircraft carrier size snooker table was set up.
I only go there for league play and once in awhile to play on the bar tables.
The 9 footers are no fun to play on.
