Very sorry for your loss. I lived in the DC area for a little while so I know it's a pretty small and tight pool community out there. Everyone usually goes to the same tournaments and play together a lot. I'm sure he will be missed by many. Prayers and sympathy to his family and friends for sure.

i never knew this man,but if my brothers on az say he was a good man, then we have indeed lost another good man!i pray that his family all bind together and pull one and other through these very very tough times, god bless the family of this man,one and all.richie adams

Fergie.............You are missed already!!!

I was privileged to know and call Greg Ferguson and friend. I first met Greg the 2nd year I put on the VA State 9 Ball Championships. He has one a qualifier out of Obelisk Billiard Club in Newport News and when we met, it was an instant friendship. He came up to me and thanked me for running a my event and said we would be talking to each other soon. Soon enough, Greg was managing the poolroom with his wife, Shawn. The ran a tight ship and did their best by pool players. I could always count on Greg running at least 3 qualifiers for my event and still getting folks to sign up to come and play. Greg as a player was no one to mess with. He played a solid game overall. There wasn't 1 State Championship that I recall that he didn't make it to the cash window. Last year, Greg called me and said he wanted to host the State 14.1 Championship down at the Obelisk and wanted me to come and run it. I was privileged that Greg thought enough of me to come run this event for him. He and his staff took very good care of me that weekend and the event went off without a hitch. We will have this event in 2011!

This man loved our game unconditionally; almost as much as he loved his wife. Towards the end of the State 14.1, he was purchasing a cue for his wife he knew she would love. He bought it and put it away to surprise her with it later. She loved it.

I was also blessed last year to be at Q-Master's to see Greg inducted into the Hampton Roads Billiards Hall of Fame. A deserved place for such a great man!

To Shawn, his beloved wife and his children, my heart goes out to you all and you are in my prayers! We have all lost a truly great man, competitor and most importantly, a FRIEND!

May you find peace in heaven until we see each other again!
