Pool Jewelry

I attend quite a few events, and I always enjoy strolling the vendor booths, checking out the wares.

To date, I have seen very little in the way of high-quality jewelry relating to pool.

With Valentine's Day around the corner, I found this gold ring on QVC which looks like a 9-ball rack to me: Gold Ring on QVC looking like 9-Ball rack

AND I like these 14K earrings which resemble a 9-ball rack: Gold Earrings on QVC looking like 9-Ball rack

I'd be interested to know if there are any website links or jewelers who specialize in pool-related jewelry.

I've been in the jewelry biz for 14 years. If you know what you'd like, I can custom make it for you.

I've been thinking of creating a few designs with a pool motif. I've seen some stuff before, but it wasn't too classy. Ya think there'd be a high interest in such pieces?

Yes I do! I'd be happy to lend some advertising for you on my site also. I would actually be interested in a ring and necklace for myself too!

BazookaJoe, I think there's a niche to be filled here.

When I attend events and see all of the vendors, I enjoy checking out the wares, but I've not seen very much in the way of high-quality jewelry.

I think there would be quite a few pool enthusiasts, fans, players, and railbirds like me who would be interested in pool jewelry. To date, I've not seen very much.

This may be an untapped market. I'd jump on it if I were a jeweler!

The U.S. Open champions receive a green blazer when they win. Poker champions receive a gold bracelet. Super Bowl winners get a ring. It would be kind of cool to see an event give a nice piece of pool-related jewelry to a winner as opposed to a trophy. I think the pool players would enjoy having a nice championship ring or bracelet for a big win, and wear it proudly!

Hey, If the UPA is paying............................... :D

I've come up with the perfect name for a pool-related jewelry company: POOL JEWELS.

Bazooka Joe, if you created some pool jewelry, I would think your link would be included in quite a few pool websites on the Internet and you'd receive much interest and maybe enjoy a hefty profit (IMO).

Personally, I'd be interested in a quote for a pendant with the 9-ball rack of the jewels I mentioned earlier in the thread; a fairly bold piece, but within JAM's jewelry budget! It would also be pretty in a marquis-style ring! :p

I'd be happy to get a rendering to you on this. PM me with some specifics.
The gem list seems to have dissapeared.

JAM, I think you'll find something you may like at this site.

http://www.kcinnovations.com/

Although they have been at Valley Forge for the last few years, I do not yet see them on the list, for this year. But there is still time.

My wife is a regular customer of theirs.

BTW, have you ever noticed the pool table ring that Don Steele wears? WOW!!!
We noticed it at the Laurel tournament.

There used to be a site at www.poolsgold.com that had some great stuff. I got a gold pendant from them in the shape of a pool table with balls and cues on it. I know they were struggling when the price of gold went up a couple years ago.

I also know that Greg Sullivan used to make pool jewelry and still has the molds for his various designs. He might be someone to talk to about this sort of thing.

From what I hear about Lisa Leavy DBA KCInnovations, she has gone out of business. She really had some great stuff. I purchases a gold pool table with diamond ball from her years ago. I hope that she is still producing jewels, although the t-shirts are out.

Greg did sell jewerly for many years. Don't know if he still has molds. I can get him a e-mail if you send it to me at windycityopen@aol.com I don't want to give his e-mail address out over the net. Or you can call Diamond Billiards at 812-288-7665 and leave him a message.

Bazooka Joe ~ I would love to see what you have. I have been known to purchase a few good pieces here and there. Might even consider something for the winner of one of my events in the future.

That's strange that the post disappeared, BazookaJoe! I don't know what happened!

Here's my idea for a pendant, shaped like a 9-ball rack:

1-ball - bright lemon citrine
2-ball - Dark blue topaz or sapphire
3-ball - cherry red ruby
4-ball - Brazilian amethyst
5-ball - firey Mexican opal
6-ball - emerald or green tourmaline
7-ball - blood-red garnet
8-ball - black onyx
9-ball - diamond

I also think a marquis ring with the above-referenced stones would be beautiful. :)

That's a very lovely website with lots of great items, Rich.

I have noticed that pool table ring of Don's. Have you ever seen the one that "Spanish Mike" Lebron wears? It's an eye-catcher, too!

Eydie, I like that idea of having a jewelry prize for a winner of an event! It is something that the pool player will always cherish and wear it proudly!

I heard it through the grapevine that Greg Sullivan is going to be providing assistance to the $15,000-added Joss tournament at Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York, next weekend, February 18th through 20th. Hopefully, I'll catch him in the hallway and get a chance to chat with him for a bit. :)

i would buy some pool related rings. of course, being only 16 years old, i cant get a ring thats studded with gems, but i could afford something simple.

Same here. I occasionally hold events here in Arizona and something like would be nice for the final winners.
