Hey Guys and Gals

I can't help notice how there are quite a few threads that pop up from time to time, with various stories about the legendary players and hustlers from the early - Mid 20th Century (damn, I feel old saying that lol) and so I couldn't help wondering if Mike or a majority of the good people on AZB, like to see a section being added for various discussion threads and stories to be posted up about the legends of the sport, for everyone to enjoy.

It would help to organise the message boards a bit more and it would also help stop quite a few good threads being lost in amoungst alot of the random threads.

What do you good people think about this suggestion?...

I think that discussion of the legends of the game is central to the main forum and central to placing the efforts of today's players in proper perspective.

I can't think of any reason why we would want to isolate such threads. The main forum is for pool related posts that have a wide general interest and few threads

It's no secret that I believe that AZB, the greatest site in the history of the internet, already has too many forums, and that I'm missing more good threads than ever before because I simply can't be bothered to check twenty different forums.

In the main forum, posts that interest people stay on page one for the simple reason that the replies keep on coming. Hemce, more often than not, the posts on page one of the main forum are worthy of attention.

In short, I'm against this.

I do like those posts a lot, the classic stories... and I think they contain something special that 99% of the forum literally can't contribute. A thousand guys can pitch in and talk about how-would-you-play-this but only a handful can talk about The Rack in Detroit or tell us what Mosconi acted like off the table.

Usually I shoot down ideas for extra forums, there are too many already... but I wouldn't complain to see such a forum. The thing is, I also like them in the main forum for the reasons sjm lists.

I guess what I'd rather see is... every time one gets posted in the main forum, it gets archived somewhere and categorized on a special page. This page would be part of AZB or could even have its own domain. You'd have a list of names, and you can click on any name to see all the forum stories posted for that player.

Now who wants to volunteer?
