I used to get the Minders and the last time I got one was about over a year ago.

For those of you who watch as much pool on TV that you can, I have one word:

Tivo. (Or if your cable/satellite service offers a DVR-ified set-top box, that.)

It's the KING. I recorded so many hours of semi-final/final matches last year (mainly women's, that's what they were showing), it was sick. But I'll tell you, watching that much and seeing how they stroked, the power (or lack of) they used, etc. - it helped my game jump up a notch when trying to emulate some of it. Good stuff.

I haven't gotten a TV minder in ages. I guess its your job now, H word. Thanks - I'll be at work when all this pool is on TV - I could Tivo it - but why don't they show something from this century? lol I tivo' d todays - it's Tony Ellen Vs Mike Sigel - the match is from 1993 - the year I graduated high school. lol

good lookin out...CONCHA! CONCHALE!! por queeeeee....yo what's up, haven't seen you at ovington for a min...how come you don't go to the tourney's that naz throws once in a while?

You're all welcomed! DVR or TIVO is the way to definitely go. I have a DVR myself and can't imagine pool on TV without it since it's on while I'm at work.

9ball girl,

I seen you post on a different forum before. I believe you mentioned something about changing your avatar....to something most of us guys would have to stop and look twice at.(or maybe three or four times) Did i take too long to get here or did it just never happen?

I did it, it happened, and it's over! Yes, you took too long. It was up a little longer on BD but alas, that one went away too. Bygones! :)

I am "Old School" i still use a VCR.:D

Kind of like the same rules that are used for Texas Hold 'Em Poker (I think) and I believe Marlon Manolo won it ($100,000), IIRC.

I think Texas Hold 'Em, is that you must shoot to make a ball every time. No defense. If you miss any shot, your opponent gets ball in hand.

Oh my God ...

What a dumb*** I am, I just called and found out ESPN classic only costs me $2 a month more with what I have now. Signed up, and they are just piping it in right now ..... lol

This is great !!!

Allen Hopkins is commentating, but I don't know who the other chap is.

Look at Varner still chewing that gum when he's in the heat of the battle! :D

Efren looks very handsome with that thick head of hair, and he moves like a ghost. 1994, just 12 years ago.

Interesting that the U.S. Open was held INSIDE the Holiday Inn next door.
