Pool Photography

Fun thread. I've spent waaaaaay more time and money on photography than pool so perhaps it's time that I try to combine the two, also.

Fruehlein, I love the shots on your web site. I can't really offer advice on composition or ideas for shots, since I don't have any experience with pool photography myself, but I did notice on the EXIF, that you were shooting at ISO 400. I would think that a 40D could easily handle ISO 800 or even 1250 without much in the way of noise problems. Fast glass is always a plus in these low light situations, too.

Thanks for the idea, and keep posting shots!

@Melinda

lol yes, I think angels see us from another angle
My english trainer told me to take care about this two words..... *ggggg*

@Banger
thanks and yes I will do .....

As a fellow photgrapher..you have a good eye.

Billiards is tough to photograph because of the lighting..So one needs a fast lens.

The other thing I struggle with is trying to find a fresh perspective..

The third one you posted is really nice, good use of depth of field

The 19th is another favorite of mine..The lighting is not the best..but the background make the image..

It creates a some strong lines in opposition to the player and cue

few from my collection that are my favorites

His name is Juergen Jenisy. He is a nice guy and a great player.
Yes he also played Eurotour (I think he was 9th) and he also won two Grand Pix in Austria this year.

Just found this picture:

Exposure was 5 seconds.... i would say there was not much movement .... *lol*

Good shots there....

The movement is interesting, to say the least!!!

Isn't that low light photography fun??

Thank God we're using digital.
