Pool Player and Smoking..

"everyone makes their choices and if you
don't like it go somewhere else, the owner has the right to run his business how he wants"
..vs.. "the owner doesn't have the right to make a public/work environment dangerous,
and going somewhere else is not always practical".

The town that I work and play in does not allow smoking in any public buildings, including bars. The only public building where smoking is allowed is the casino.

I don't know about all sports but I am pretty sure that a higher percentage of pool players smoke than do marathon runners.

I can't think of another sport that has anywhere near the same percentage of smokers as pool players.... but what ever sport it is, it will be a distant second.

The only other class of people that I would put In the "pool player" class is hair dressers... don't know why, but seems like most of them smoke... seems odd for one profession to do it at that high rate, but it seems to be true. Next time you get your haircut ask them if you can "bum" a smoke :)

Two sisters and a nephew were/are smokers and hair sylists..... one sister died at 41 from lung cancer. I don't even recall any of my sisters friends who she worked with that did NOT smoke ??

one of the other things i hate is when the player I am playing against go out for smoking break. I would sit there and wait for 10 mins.. really bored..

Michael, I have a feeling I know some of the players you are talking about...............

Lol

My wife ran in a caner marathon, The last 1/4 mile her body gave up and she stopped.
She was a good 1/2 mile ahead of 2nd place. She is also a hard core smoker. and carried a cigarette and a lighter in a small fanny pack.
She lite up a cigarette., and it gave her a boost , she went across this finish line with a cigarette in her mouth. LOL

It was a mess, 2nd place guy was pissed and throwing a fit.
The people who sponcered the race had a picture of my with a lite cigarette in her mouth
going across the finish line.

In the end my wife had to run across the finsh line again without the cigarette so they could get a photograph.

Not bad for a 48 year old woman:eek:
I do wish she would stop smoking .:sorry:
