pool player statistics

Does anyone know if/where I could find information on any pool player statistics. For instance, a guestimate of how many people in U.S. and other countries play the game, both amateur and professionally - and any other data if possible? Perhaps it's been discussed on AZB before.

My first instinct would be to contact the BCA organization. According to some, this is the organization that represents America, and as such, they may have good records that can help provide the information you are seeking.

As an alternative, maybe you could send a PM to Bob Jewett, in case he misses this thread. I'm pretty sure he can steer you in the right direction!

SURE! Just go to http://home.bca-pool.com/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=19 Once there, just scroll down to the bottom of the page to get some summary stats. Then click on the PDF link and you will get the whole survey.
