pool players with a lit cigarette in their mouth while shooting?

when i was a kid, local pool hall had some brunswicks that had ash trays built into the metal part of the corner pockets.

when people are addicted to things they lose all social consciousness about it and justify their behavior as being okay.

smoking is especially bad as you hurt the health of anyone near you and the enjoyment of them at the same time unless they are addicted just like you.

just because it is legal to light up near someone does not means it is right. it is legal to cough in someones face or fart but wont make you any friends if you do that.

After numerous posts essentially saying the same thing worded different ways, we get it, you don't like cigs.

Actually no, they generally don't. And that's a sincere medical opinion.

But when rudely confronted they certainly will often come off that way.

My drinking doesn't ruin your liver. Try to keep up please:thumbup:

My wife was hit head on by a drunk driver a couple years ago. No license. No registration.

She had permanent nerve damage and is going to need cervical spinal surgery.

Her liver is indeed fine.

But because of all the drugs she is on due to chronic pain and neuropathy they have to monitor her liver for damage.

Cigs are great for stress reduction and increased alertness.

Also, cig smokers, if they live long enough, have less Alzheimer's disease.

It's a choice...or should be.

Get a rope...

Also prevents or cures ulcerative colitis. Just to make sure we're counting all points.

Has absolutely nothing to do with what I posted! Sorry to hear that though

I see this quite often. How do they think this is okay?

Don't see it much anymore. Not good for the cloth when the ash drops, as it inevitably does. Only thing more ignorant is the guy with a toothpick in his mouth while he shoots :-o

I will remember that piece of info next time a family is killed by someone driving while smoking. Dont know about your home but OUI is a pretty big problem in WI and it has had deadly effects on those close to me.

Now you are both talking about DRINKING AND DRIVING - very different than drinking. But I guess you cannot see it. Geez

Once again nobodys drinking affects YOUR liver. If they drive thats a different story and doesn't pertain to this thread.

I dont think it matters. If a true pool player is smoking at the table he will baby that table and not damage it. If non pool players do it, i get angry because they will ash all over it, burn holes and not realizing that the owner has to pay for replacing the felt and that to some people pool is not just a game its a sport.

Actually, shooting pool with a cigarette in your mouth is part of an ancient and closely guarded secret aiming system.

The cig is carefully placed under the non dominate eye at a slightly downward angle. This gives a 3 point reference for positioning your head correctly.

The smoke forces the non dominate eye to squint some, thereby increasing the strength of the dominate eye.

It's also great for bisecting angles and bank shots. I recommend the 100's for this.

Can't tell much more without giving the secret away. (It's closely guarded ya know)

You've been expelled from the order. Turn your card in post haste please. Good day to you.

If my opponent is indigenous....I'm more concerned about spectators smoking.
....coaching with smoke signals....:nono::nono:

Let Shuffet explain it and nobody will ever understand it anyway.

I don't miss the smoking days, more than just the players smoked up the air;
