I talked with Blair, many years ago, and he seems like a good guy, but the concept is retarded, IMO. I thought so then, 4 years ago, but let it simmer with me - I still thinks it's retarded.

Could certainly be that it is just not my bag, as I think UFC and all that is pretty - retarded.

Combining pool and poker on one show I am all for it. Then I will just have to change the chanel during the fight. I just hope they put some people on there that actually have some tallent with pool and poker........any jarhead can fight. JMHO
 
Anything to promote pool is fine with me. I have talked to Blair sev. times he seems to have his act together and I believe Somonis and Diamond are going to help sponsor him and I heard the other day that Rodney Morris was going to be one of the pool coaches I havent kept up with much on the poker and pain end of things, he offered me a spot back in march at a torn. but im not a fighter hopefully it will be a success and hell make me regret it.
 
pool poker pain and they should finish it off with a half hour set of "your momma jokes" .. IMO ;)
 
What network is going to cover this, at what time of the morning.. I want to see how they produce this one.

Typical pool players bashing everything without seeing it.
What have any of you done for any sport? At least he is trying, I will watch then form an opinion. AND YOU WONDER WHY NOBODY WANTS TO BE INVOLVED WITH POOL.UNBELIEVEABLE-NOT REALLY

Who are you directing this too?
I don't think some pool players on a pool forum not really liking an idea is why nobody wants to be involved in pool. I might think Nascar, reality shows, etc. are boring or as Corey said "retarded", but that doesn't stop them from being popular or shown on T.V. every possible chance. I understand your point and hope Pool, Pain, and Poker does great, but I doubt it. This is not bashing on my part, just telling how I feel.

Well, I can take a guess. Do you think this show(if it ever airs) is going to be really popular? I agree with you that negative posts or saying something is stupid without doing anything about it, does not really help the situation. I don't know if you know this, but this show has been in the works for years. I know things take time, but if the right people were interested in this show, it would be in its 4th season by now!

I have known Blair for a number of years, so yes I did know about this before today. It sounds like the right people are slowly coming on board, It would be nice to see Negraenu, Hennigan, or Arieh do the poker coach part as they also have a pool background. If people will watch celebrity poker showdown(possibly the biggest joke in history) They will surely watch this. I don't know about anybody else but I would LOVE to see some of these players fight(as long as they're not fighting me):grin:
 
Ok,lets just say this ridiculous idea ever came about,People find this amusing for a couple of years then its over.Then what? All the hard work of thousands of people, trying to make billiards a legitimate sport,would go down the drain and Pool would be looked at as a worse joke than it already is.

I love pool obviously, I also love MMA,

I like poker, but am not really into it too much.

So, by that logic, you would be against sombody starting a new tour "because it may only last a couple of years, before it ends?"


ANYTHING that could be started may or may not work out in the long run. If you knew which was which beforehand, ONLY successful ventures would exist.

I started my own business, it did not last quite as long as I would have liked it to, but I NEVER regret starting it. I learned a lot and mad a decent amount while I could.

You would make a great motivational speaker for kids. " Don't bother trying, more than likely it won't last!" " Oh, and stay in school"
