ok what pool room out there (u.s.a.) has the deepest talent...most skilled players/gamblers hanging out in one room at a given time?

good question

i would be curious to know this too. it has been a little while since we had very much depth of field in g.r..

i would have to guess that some of the bigger cities should have the greatest range in players. but you never know.

From what I've heard Amsterdam in NY, Mister Cues 2 in Hotlanta and many Florida rooms with all the pro's living there.--Leonard

Maybe throw one of the Houston rooms into the mix with the Rocket, the Hillbilly, Jeremy Jones, and some other pros being down there.

> My picks would be Hard Times,Tulsa Billiard Palace/Magoo's,and Shooter's in Olathe,Ks. The toughest room I've ever been in with any kind of regularity was Starcher's in Akron, from back in the late 80's until after Niels moved away from there. I swear there were like 50 guys that came around damn near every night that played mid-level pro speed, like Troy Frank or Steve McAnninch, and another 20 or so I'd put in at maybe a ball under that. It wasn't given much thought when someone broke and ran out a race to 3 in the Wednesday night tournaments. Action was available at all price points too,a guy named Mikey Vero used to grind out the rent playing 2 dollar a game 9 ball, and was more than happy to stay at it 8 hours or more. He'd also bet 500 a set if he had it. I wish I could have moved back to Akron and been a part of that food chain, some awful strong players came up back then,Troy Frank among them. As nice as places like Romine's,Amsterdam, and JOB's are, that poolroom was my favorite place to play in the world, other than High Pocket's in Memphis, which was never really known as a real strong or deep room, but a lot of quality players hung there, and Louie Roberts hung out there a LOT,before I starting getting out regularly. How about Capones in Spring Hill Florida. I walked into that place for their weekly 9ball and kept on tripping over Pros! :D

thats a bummer, we moved back up to PA last November, so I havn't been there since the previous winter. The funny thing was I paid my entry not knowing anyone in the tourney, then 5 minutes before the event starts in pops Rodney, Corey, and Rob Saez....I'm like, WTF am I doing here! But I only missd cashing by 1 match so it was cool. The drive back home to Ormond beach in the middle of the night sucked though:D
