Pool School in Minneapolis this August

The more English replies the more positive attention the thread gets.

In regards to SPF....if not for that I'd have 000. I found Scott on AzB. Scott came to my house for the 1st of our lessons. I had no idea what to expect. The only thing I knew is I'm inviting a total stranger into my house. Scott was very easy to read, A real trustworthy gentleman with a friendly smile. An extremely competent qualified instructor and a pleasure to learn from and be around. Never met Randy but I have the same regard for him...I would not hesitant to have him as an instructor. I have Scotts DVD with Randy. They are the Dynamic Duo. They are a team that compliment each other. Both have nothing but the highest regard for each other. To be a student of either one is to be on the right track.
I have done a few private lessons with Scott. I rate each a 5star. One was a review of lesson one. The others we covered different aspects. 1 and 2 rail kicking systems, banking and so on. I'd like to attend pool school someday. Especially if it was by Scott (and Randy.) To those that are going...you are in for a treat...and I'm jealous...in a good way.

I just thought that I might mention that this has been very entertaining for a good number of long time forum contributors, most who don't/can't participate currently.

I hope you have a great turnout, Scott! Someday, the stars will align for me....

Scott and Randy

Scott,

I sent you a PM about 2 more students for your class. We took the class a few years ago from you and Randy, and we could use a tune up. Would love to see one in Fargo again, but we like the twin cities too.

Thanks

Thanks Joel! Looking forward to seeing you soon! I'll be in NYC in less than 3 weeks!

I have had lessons from several instructors. Scott, Randy, Jerry Breiseth, Little Joe V, Danny Basavich,, Tony Robles, and several others. I have attended clinics run by Fran, one by Johnny Archer with Nick Varner.
I believe this qualifies me to make some comparisons. I would also like to add that I was a teacher fort 32 years.
I do not feel that anyone has ever left me with the feeling that I wasted my money. I took something away from each lesson.
The three day clinic I spent with Randy and Scott made the biggest change in my game. Every other lesson built upon the foundation I learned at pool school. Randy and Scott are great instructors. To say you would not consider one would be a big mistake. Scott travels the country all year. Randy comes out of hiding a couple times a year. If you get a chance to work with either, jump on it. Scott guarantees his lessons. If you feel you wasted you time don't pay. I doubt anyone has not gladly paid ans then asked when are you going to be back.

Certainly true Joel, and I have told you (along with all my students) to take lessons from as many different people as you have the time, money and opportunity to work with. Nice talking to you today. See you in two weeks!

Seems like this is a statement that needs further clarification. You said one lesson was a review of Lesson One. You mean you received, basically, a lesson to review a previous lesson? Did you have to pay for this lesson that reviewed a previous lesson?

I reviewed(repeated) the first lesson at my expense within a year to see how I progressed and to stay on track. Did it for fun also. Reviewing a lesson is not neccessary I just felt like doing it. A 4 hour lesson covers enough to work with for a lifetime. I will work with Scott again sometime and start out with stroke mechanics.
The 3rd lesson was dedicated to Kicking and very beneficial. Nothing is for free and I would not expect it to be. I certainly got my monies worth.... And will definitely work with Scott again. There are always new things to cover. I'm a player that learns correctly and faster with an instructor. And Scott is the one. Hope this clarifies. Any other questions please feel free. I encourage anyone that wants to improve and cannot do so on their own to connect with Scott.
Scott's lesson is a well organized step by step course. The student does not move on until the particular subject is understood.

Good. I'm focusing on OnePocket lately. The €£¥#% cue ball is being a PITA.
Speed control, precision position, 4 rail banking tracks will be the order of the day. Monday looks good right now. Hey last time we met it was the Hydroponic warehouse lesson. That was different.

I have said this before and I will say it again. Randy & Scott are elite instructors of pool mechanics. They have it down pat and if your basic mechanics are not sound NOTHING else will help. Every time I am struggling with potting balls I immediately fall back to the fundamentals I learned from them. A good pool stroke is not rocket science but without knowing right from wrong you could be lost forever. I credit them with teaching me the best mechanics necessary to play pool at a high level!

Exactly right. That's why I started with Scott. I have been playing for over 50 years and have been doing the same thing repeatedly. My runs were 3-6 balls over and over. After Scotts 1st lesson (with a good amount of practice) the runs doubled/tripled. Hi run being 32 and I'm proud of that. I do run a rack of 9ball here and there. I had a few 8 and out 1p games. I think the next lesson will be the 5th (in the past 5 years). I'm having too much fun. Pool is better than ever. I'm thankful there is a Scott (and Randy) to teach us proper techniques. Instructors like them did not exist is the 60's when I started playing. The 60's...damn is miss Burholme poolroom on Cottman St. at $.50 per hour.

In talking with Scott, looks like both schools are full.

Not unusual at all.

Thank everyone.

I've resisted chiming in because when I typically do, I attract more sharks when there already are ample numbers.
My buddy, Tommy Hill, became a PBIA Certified Instructor and I think it actually rejuvenated his overall game again.
He was already an accomplished player and Tommy played on the pro circuit with Keith & Kim back in the 90's.
Anyway, after Tommy becoming certified by Scott, I've watched his play really excel in a way like I'd never before.seen.
I've been fortunate to have Tommy work with me and the techniques & principles you'll learn will be of immense help.
