Pool Shoes

Too bad pool isn't a sport where specific shoes are important. If it was, the top pros would be making lots of money in sponsorships and there might be a title sponsor willing to support a tour.

Not for the faint of heart, but hey I play in them......Just saying.....to each his/her own....

There was a pool shoe in the 80s called Stance and let's just say I don't think it was a big seller - looked like an athletic shoe/bowling shoe hybrid.

Find something you can stand in all day and that doesn't slip on the surface you're playing on, you'll be in business.

Good Shoes are important. Several writers mention this in thier instructional books.

Someone mentioned SAS Shoes, they are great, some Ecco's are great too.

Comfort plays a big part in the shoe selection & the heel heighth plays too...

It's OK if some of You folks don't or won't care about details, that can or may affect the outcome of a match.

I'm perfectly comfortable in Pumas, but if you want a perfectly fit shoe to exactly your specification and don't mind spending a lot. Try Russell Moccasin Co., they make custom boots, moccasins, and shoes. They have you outline your feet and take I think 17 measurements. They guarantee a good comfortable fit.
Incidentally MADE IN AMERICA.

I've found myself playing lately in a worn out pair of sneakers and I've noticed problems caused due to this in my game. Well long story short in thinking about this Ive wondered why there wasn't shoes made specifically for pool players I mean they do it for bowling and golf. Would love to know if someone had already doen this or at least considered it.
my wife is a nurse and lots of nurses working 12 hour shifts wear crocs,i wore them in vegas last year and i played a ton of pool, they were the cats meow

I was beginning to think I was the only one to remember these. Hell I was even a big enough sucker to buy a pair. (just kidding, I like to support pool) Don't know what was supposed to be so special about them. Seemed like normal sneakers to me except for the "Stance" logo.

Grey, cut your toenalis lol, jk.

I try not to over analyze it and don't really think about it when playing. A good pair of running shoes, currently New Balance works for me.

Lol, actually I get pedicures and manicures....being a runner for so long I take good care of my feet. Aint trying to have my feet looking like road kill like some people I know, when you wear sandals you don't want people much less pretty ladies to look down and say WTF?

lol,

Now that's a money making idea if I've ever heard one.

I used to have some aching feet after a few day tournament but haven't had any problems in a while.

For my every day shoes, I wear Birkenstock shoes which was recommended by a friend. At first they looked kind of weird with the shape at the front of the shoe (I forget what the shape is called) and one of the shoes hurt the arch of my foot a little more than the other. My friend promised that the slight pain, produced by the shoe lifting my arch would go away. It did and the shoes are fine. I no longer have any feet problems.

Then, I went to a "runner's" athletic shoe store, where the local runners association purchased their shoes.

The first thing the woman told me was that there are a few different brands and each have "high end" shoes that would fit the bill, but she recommended trying on ALL of the higher end shoes, from $85 to $140. She said price at that level has nothing to do with comfort or support. It is now all up to the wearer and their feet. She said that each shoe is different just like your feet and that you have to see which ones suit your feet best. She said once you start looking at the better shoes it is simply a matter of finding the ones which your feet feel best in immediately.
My athletic shoe is a Nike Cushlon Bowerman Series but that doesn't mean anything to me. It's the feel and the support.

I've migrated over to some Nike Dri-Fit socks as well as some Thorlon sp? socks which are a little heavier than the Dri-fits.

Good luck.
