Pool Table Dilema?

You speak some inspiring words! It really makes me think about it actually. What the hell is the problem with it? I mean I am giving up my parking space! It really will not be affecting her at all. I guess I can try it and if it doesnt work out I will just sell the table..
It means your garage is big enough to house the table and the car, if you need to push your car out for cueing space, I don't think it's big deal..you just need to slow-comm your wifey..things will get easier as time passes.

If you haven't set up at all, then it could be that she just doesn't want you to play pool. (Generally people have a negative impression on cuesport)

This is sort of a dumb, obvious question, but am I correct in assuming you don't have a basement? I know most warmer, southern places don't (I know in Florida it has something to do with the water table) but I figured Idaho would have them.

Yeh no basement. I wish though! Well we finally came to an agreement and lets just say I am going to look at a table tomorrow! WOO HOO! :) Just looking at a decent Burnswick 8'. Ill get a Gold Crown or Diamond when we upgrade to a house that will fit a pool table. Thanks for all the advice!

Yuck. I would either get a Diamond 7" or 9". An 8 footer is the bane of a serious player. The angles and type of play are different than either 7" or 9" tables, and you won't find very many tournaments on 8 footers. If you get a 7 foot Diamond table, at least you will be fully prepared to play on them at league National events.

If she absolutely will not let you park both the cars outside, I would go for the 7 foot Diamond table. For me, an 8 footer would not even be a consideration. Just my opinion. :D

I have just always wondered if the cold is going to affect the table that much? I live in Boise ID and our winters are not very harsh but they do get pretty cool. Let me know your thoughts! Thanks.
My brothers table is in a garage. He lives in the upper midwest. Temperture can run from 100+ in the summer to -20 in the winter. Humidity has more affect on play then temp does.

Get a dehumidifier, and know this, any table is better then no table.

See I grew up on an 8' and alternated from 9' - 7' because of different leagues and I never had a problem? I guess for me I dont want to spend more than $500 on a table that is going to go into my garage. I have not seen a 9' for that price yet.

Russ-

Do you feel the same about an eight foot pro? That's what I have at home, and really don't feel it's much of an adjustment to a nine footer when I go to the pool hall.
