Are there any pool tournaments on bar boxes or big tables in the Albuquerque/Rio Rancho area?
I am sure there are lots of people that will fly to play me. Thus, why I am asking for tournaments.
Yea totally Billiard palace has friday and Saturday tournaments. Kenny runs a weekly barbox tournament at the bird of paradise. Doc n Eddies has two a week I think and slate street has one two. And if you don't mind the drive to santa fe I run a bi weekly tournament Wednesdays at 7 and Sundays at 5:30. You can get more info at www.santafeshootout.com. ps unlike Billiard palace we let everyone play regardless of skill level so expect a challenge.
A friend of mine will be opening a pool hall soon in Albuquerque and she will be starting a league.
The Locker Room is a sports bar with a simple menu of bar food, video games and three valley bar boxes. Its right next door to cheeks (the strip club in Santa Fe). The tournament is allot of fun we have great customers from all over New Mexico. This week will be our 130 tournament we average 19 players per tournament. Its a $10 entry fee and all of it goes to the prize fund and we tend to pay pretty deep. 16 players down to 4th, 20 players down to 5th and 6th Its a double elimination tournament one game per match (hence shootout) we finish in about 2 1/2 hours. Let me tell ya this tournament is fun, everyone is respectful and they all love pool. I couldn't ask for a better community of pool players. We allow all skill levels so expect local pros like Tommy Tokoph to come down but with the short race and a coin toss for the break everyone has a chance. Is' Locker room ' a Bar ? Is your tournament on Bar Boxes or 9 footers?
Marrisa? Cool...about time.
RoadHustler pretty much covered it... the Palace on Fri and Sat, Doc & Eddies Mon and Thurs, Slate St. in Rio Rancho Sunday nite.

Tommy is a nice kid besides being a daamn frigging good player. I will be in Santa Fe 7/21 to 8/5/2011.My hang out will be the catamount and the cocktail lounge of La Fonda Inn in Plaza. I am surprised to know that there is a strip club in Santa Fe. How sinfull the the town became!!!! Lord forgive the place!!!![]()
Hate to ruin your day but the Catamount is closed they will reopen soon but when I went by their new location in the rail yard it didn't look like they have space for pool tables. Cheeks (the strip club) has been open since the 80's it's on the outbound side of Cerillos rd.
yes, the news ruined my day.I loved catamount for it`s social scene and not for pool playing. I will be staying either at holiday inn or Holiday express.I may drop by the 'Road Hustler' to see what is going on. Does 'Outbound side' mean that it is towards Madrid ? Thanks.![]()
