Oops,
JAM forgot to mention the lovely Loree Jon Jones won the womens division in 1993.Fong-Pang Chao isn't transgendered, he did win the mens that year. :D

Jimmy M,
Thanks for the 1903 answer, that helps me with something from another thread.

Okay, if a non Arizona player answers this I'll be surprised, but it'll be cool if one does. :) What current Arizona resident holds a "high run" record in the US Open Straight Pool tournament?

Hint: It isn't Rude Dog.

Real Pool Trivia question

Got an answer?

When can an object ball be called 'frozen to the rail' and not be touching the rail?

When it's frozen to another ball that IS "frozen" to the rail?

Maybe?? Just a guess....

Bobby Hunter

Bobby lives in Carson City, NV. I don't know if he ever lived here.

Tom: I think this is as much of a "real question" as any of the others, especially since this is "AZ"Billiards.com. The answer just isn't as easily found by using google. :p The rules of the game are that you answer the question correctly before asking yours.

Joe Protica holds the record of 182 in tournament play (don't know if it was the US open)
Robles and Crane are tied at 150 (both New Yorkers)
So.........

I'm guessing Larry Hubbart lives there since he shoots with a Robinson. LOL

You know, you'd think that there would be an abundance of Robinson cues around here, but there really aren't. I've always thought they were really nice looking cues, but I could never get over the joint.

I don't know if you were allowed to make a question.. I wasn't...

But I'll answer your question anyway.

In straight pool, if an object ball is closer than 1 ball's width from the cushion, and it's driven 2 times to the cushion by the same player without any other ball contacting any cushion, the third time the same player faces the shot, the object ball is declared to be frozen to the cushion, even though if it isn't. Kind of hard to explaing in few words.... :)

When the person calling it "frozen" has bad eyesight, I've seen this hundreds of times so it has to be a correct answer. (LOL)

Okay, since you guys are going to move on to the next question now, beaten and stumped (:D), I'll just tell you that it's "Babe" Thompson. What is it with "Babe" and straight pool (as in, "Babe" Cranfield)? Hmm, maybe I should use that nickname. Maybe I'd play better straight pool.

Ok, I will take mine as the best correct answer.

My question. What player played pool right-handed, then switched to left-handed and beat Efren Reyes in a one-pocket challenge match left-handed for the cash?

I almost don't want to be right because I don't want to have to come up with another question, but is it Cecil Tugwell?
