Pool video games

I have seen threads about movies, songs, tips, shafts.....I just wondered if anyone had ever started a thread about pool video games? I used to play Virtual Pool on the ps1 a lot and I really liked it. What is your favorite pool game and what platform is it for?

I have been playing there for many years, finally achieving laurel status here recently. It is very challenging and features players from all over the world in all age groups. Some are nice, some are not so nice. There is 8 ball, 9 ball, rotation, snooker, 3 cushion, 4 ball, 6 ball, and a game called card ball. All are VERY fun...snooker being the hardest IMO.

I think you all would be really amazed at how realistic it is...

There is only two drawbacks, you can't jump, and there is no deflection whatsoever.

But for the price, it can't be beat...cause it's FREE!

Check it out and look up "KidShark" if you get a chance.

That thread is about Virtual Pool 3 for pc. I wanted to know about everyone's favorite pool game. It could be Side Pocket for Nintendo, Championship Pool for Nintendo.......I just wonder how many there actually are?
 
The original Nintendo had a pool game called Lunar Pool. You couldn't use English or Follow or Draw, but it was pretty cool for the time. You could, however, change the friction of the cloth... even to 0 friction... which meant you would inevitably scratch! :)

I'm sure you could still find it on eBay if you have an old Nintendo sitting around.

Just kidding around with you david. (notice the tongue face) You had said 'video games' not PC games.

What I will say more seriously is, as in all gaming categories. PC games are always far superior to there console counterpart.
 
Has nobody here played world championship pool 2004 it is a fantastic game and has all the top players, venues and tournaments you would expect its for ps2 and if you are a pool fan it is a must have to add to your game collection.
 
i made a thread on a video game, they should make a WPBA or Mens tour video game you know like the PGA Tour with Tiger Woods. That would be awesome, but i have the virtual pool 3 and Real Pool video games on ps2, Virtual Pool has better graphixs and such.

I was a big fan of virtual pool 3d because of the realism. Also, I could try position shots that my stroke wouldn't allow me to do; drawing 42 rails for position is fun!

I also have a CD on Trick Shots and Other Billiard Wonders Screensaver, the Cosmic Pool screen saver and 2 billiards games on my Treo 650 and a Pool Pinball for Palm.

I have 3 Nintendo games - Side Pocket, Championship Pool and Lunar Pool and I am pretty sure I bought an XBox pool game, but never got to play it as my son has the XBox. :(

Don't worry, I suck at all of them. lol

The best video game for pool is on PC it's called 3d ultra cool pool by Sierra if you don't have this one get it. It's very nice for posistion play and learning patterns you can play it online if you want. The best thing about it is you have to use proper angles to get around the table the spin works but it's not like you get an experrt stroke like so many other realistic games. so patern play has to be carfully thought out and the ball will do almost what it is sopposed to. you can jump (scoop).but no masse I found it to be the most useful video game for learning how to play patterns with very little spin. There are a few small gliches in the way pockets take balls but I still think it's very helpful no tricks or pro pool player vids or any other flashy gimics though just pool.
 
I tried Hustle. One of my friends has it........its not great but hey. gotta have a pool game on every console of some type



Seen a game for Sega the other day on ebay. Something with Minnesota Fats!!!!!
