Poolhall Junkies

The movie is also on Netflix if you want to watch it there.

Thanks for the youtube link as well! Great movie

Thanks ..I'm one of about three people on here that doesn't hate this movie. It sure isn't a documentary but it's fun to watch

I love this movie. Not the best acting and a lot of cheese thrown in, but I mean come on- Chris Walken in a pool movie - how can one not like it.

"rack em Joe, my fingers so"

Thanks just re-watched it, I enjoyed it.

Really wish somebody would come out
with a good new one!

FWIW
It's possible I used to gamble cheap with Mars
a few times when he was writing the movie.
(down at Chelsea Billiards)
He used to ask all kinds of questions about pool and
gambling and things.

He used to talk about doing a movie and I was really
glad for him when I saw it happened for him.
He was a real nice guy.

5! I like to play it on tv to have some background noise when im playing alone, Christopher Walken would be the greatest backer ever, and loved the Mike Massey cameo "ive got your balls right, you greek b*****d"

I watched a few minutes of it and it looks like it's going to be interesting.
I'll watch it all tonight. Thanks for the link

I also enjoyed it. The parts with the waitress and her tits always made me laugh.

Good movie...I was background noise in a couple of the scenes. Its cool to see some of my old stomping grounds in the movie The Ritz and EO's were great places to shoot. To bad they called EO's Hard Times in the movie...

Another fan...

The acting may be bad, but, its still a good flick. Mars Callahan doing his own shots, Chris Walken, just being, well, Chris Walken. Rick Schroeder, well, maybe it didn't need Rick Schroeder. Anyway, I'm still a fan of the film....

Am I one of the three or number four?

I have it on disc but now that I had found it on UTube, I watch it a couple of times a year for something to do.

I have always felt that it was a pretty decent movie.

There are certainly a few others out there that are real bad.

Here is a link to the Baltimore Bullet. I tried one link and it seemed to work just fine.

I have always liked James Coburn. Its a fun movie.

Hey, any movie about pool is a good movie in my opinion. Add Christopher Walken and it gets even better.

The only thing that bugs me about this movie, a movie entirely about pool, is the fact they couldn't get the actual game right.

At the 1:19:55ish point where he makes a wonderful cross side bank on the 5, with the 4 ball sitting right next to him... it just makes me cringe. And a bit earlier, but a little less obvious, is when he makes a table length bank on some ball and the 1 ball is still on the table... *sigh*.

And the ending *SPOILER ALERT*....

SPOILER ALERT

is not at all friendly to the pool world. It just continues the image of pool players as being nothing but hustlers, liars, and scammers.

That gimmick they used at the end about "I'd pay to take that shot" crap would get your arse kicked in any bar in the world.

I remember that one Paulie. In the movie industry, they have people that follow that and take pictures. It is called Continuity and it is specifically their job to try and avoid those scenes.

Even the bestest of movies have bloopers like that.

I believe that there is more than one Blooper in PHJ.

I once appeared twice in the same movie, 2 different characters. I asked one guy how they were going to get away with that. He just shrugged his shoulders. I didn't see the movie so the probability of myself ending up on the cutting room floor was pretty fair.

It seems all pool movies are like that lol if you watch the color of money his run outs never make sense. You see him shoot a stop shot and think why the hell did he do that he's going to be thin on the next ball. Then he does a dance or whatever comes back to the shot and he's dead nuts on the next ball. lol Pool movies are like watching fast and the furious. Just suspend reality for a bit, remember it's not a documentary and enjoy! :)

Glad you liked it Trob. I am still watching it a few minutes at a time.

Of course, The Miz and Allen Hopkins, ( at least I think thats him), are in the first scene.

I was wondering if the person standing next to Allen is someone that we should know as well.
