Hey Guys,

My wife and I are taking a trip to Asheville, NC in May and was wondering if there were any places to play around there. We're staying at the Sourwood Inn and I'm not familiar with the area at all. So, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeremy

The above post has one huge, glaring omission: Fat Cats

2345 Hendersonville Rd. in Arden which is on the southern edge of Asheville. I suppose 'technically' it's not in Asheville, but I have an Asheville address and it takes me exactly 8 minutes to get there, and that's only because of Asheville traffic. :)

18 tables, 11 9' Brunswicks and the rest are 8'. Pool is free weekdays from 11-2 if you buy lunch (my husband and I split an entree) and the food is good. $5/hr Sats and Suns til 5, $8/hr all other times. Sirius radio, Internet Jukebox, TVs everywhere, classic pool hall ambiance...

The only place to go in my opinion. I love that place.

Asheville!!

Since you already have the pool halls listed. I'll just add that Asheville is my favorite place this side of the moon! My 'little' girl graduated from UNCA and I spent many long weekends there. She still lives and works there to this day. It is hard to find a bad restaurant, my fav is Doc Cheys. There is so much to do year round from pool, flyfishing, golfing, hiking, mountain biking, road biking as well as the antique stores and the art shows downtown, it is a VERY special place. Many of the top cyclist in the country train there. The folks are extremely friendly even tolerating the 'damn yankess' (not everyone knows the difference between yankees and damn yankees) with all the southern grace and charm you'd expect. If you have not visited I would urge anyone to take a trip there!

Vanderbuilt pool room

Check out the BILTMORE HOME,They have the best pool room for a home in the world.

Unfortunately Good Times is closed. Now that was a real room. If you are willing to travel, I know another great room.

Thanks for all the replies, gals and guys. I think I'll try to hit one each night I'm there.

....Thread resurrection.....

I'm traveling to Asheville this weekend and will have some free time to play. Is the info in this thread still current?

Thanks.
